OK.....What could you have possibly done to damage it at the Rally? You make it sound like you were fiddling.

I bounced the nose splitter coming over the driveway entrance at the hotel. I didn't think it was that hard, cause I've done it a few(!) times before. However, I instantly got hissing, smell of AC refrigerant, and no AC. Since I was heading back to winter in the PNW, I didn't get under there and pull off the splitter to see what happened, until 2 weeks ago. It turns out that I had broken off the middle support strut at the top of the strut, and when I bounced the splitter, it pushed the strut back and up and speared the condenser.

I could take it to a radiator shop and have it soldered, which I will do if I can't get a replacement at a reasonable price. Scott Minch has one and is asking $5000 on eBay, which is absurd. I might even try to repair it in place by spraying down the area with brake cleaner and trying JB Weld. If that doesn't work, then it will have to come out to be repaired or replaced.

YIKES, freak occurrence. I bought one five years ago for a spare from my local Ford dealer who got it from Ford. I paid $209.50. Something must be available for less than $5000. A shop can pinch and solder the punctured tubes. Good luck.

Yeah, silver solder is the preferred repair. Probably what I'll end up doing.

Who was it that sub'd the ac system for the gt? vintage air i think. They might be a source for a condenser since I doubt ford took the time and cost to do a special custom.
