Public service announcement: List of Ford GTs at upcoming auctions (with links)

Now, knowing what you know, and knowing how many cars with less miles and lower prices than that red car just sit online without selling, how representative are auctions? 😄

Uhh, not at all, I guess!

My brain default assumes rational behavior. You’d think after almost 65 years I would know better!

I love watching this. Rich rednecks getting hyped by fat salesmen , girls and liquor driving prices up. We need this. All that’s missing is the Champagne room .

I like the girl that writes on the windshield after each car sells, but the camera only shows her a second or two.

For the record, I'd like to say I offered to buy my car back from the dude that bought it from me rather than have him auction it the first time.

Right now, that dude is really wishing he took me up on that offer. 😄

Karma’s a bitch. The guy down here in DFW who bought the infamous Indy Mecum car is upside down. He’s tried selling it twice with no sale.

BJ 2006 yellow/black, 1111 miles, hammered at $300k, so sale price $330k.

BJ 2005 black/silver, 3400 miles, hammered at $285k, so sale price $313.5k

BJ 2005 red/white, 4800 miles, hammered at $300k, so sale price $330k.

BJ 2006 red/white, 29 miles, hammered at (i think) $347k, so sale price $381.7

BJ 2006 Heritage, 2400 miles, hammered at $400k, so sale price $440k.

AS my dad would say, "Makes my breath come in short pants".

2005 blue/silver (1 of 1?) Neil Ressler owner, 4100 miles, hammer $410k, sale price $451k

2005 silver no-stripe, Serial number 003, hammer $400k, sale price $440k. (Sold for $605k in 2015)

The heritage that hammered for $400k still shows as available on bj website. Either a glitch or...?

Two blue/white 2006’s still coming, one 3400 miles, one 8100 miles.

Yes, Neil's was essentially a one-off. SSV painted Silver stripes though not reflected on the window sticker.

There is also historical value in Neil likely being the single absolutely indispensable member of the 2005/06 Ford GT team. Jamal once said to me that the car flat out would not have been possible if Neil had not agreed to Bill Ford's request that he handle the program, so very good for Neil!

I think how much the seller netted is the most important and interesting number. Maybe I'm wrong, but this seems like a number to considering private transactions.
I do agree that "An auction like Barret Jackson, a market does not make".....Yoda [or baby yoda]

My prediction for upcoming auctions - people will pick and choose whichever side of the numbers they like (buyer or seller), and it will all mean little relative to what actually happens in the retail market.

Ta da! 😄

Non Ford colors on the 17’s seem to suffer Somewhat today. You gotta want and love the Verde Mantis Green to pay top money! It sold for $1,182,500 with fees. Liquid red- $1,485,000.

Really cool to hear the story of how the silver stripes came to be, straight from the source. These little nuances along the way of production are intriguing!

Yeah, I totally get it for someone that wants to have their own unique GT and enjoy it, but the guys that intend to flip is a gamble…

It would be insane to try and make that judgement based on a sample size you can count on your fingers.

You know what car hammered for significantly less than this green car? The 2017 Matte Black Heritage sold at Bonham’s during car week. That is BY FAR the rarest factory Heritage car that will be built during the GT production run, and it was virtually undriven.

I think what is proven is that if you are a domestic car seller, without question B-J is the venue.

*Green is risky because it's green, which has a limited appeal in general.

Lots of cars struggled to sell at low estimates in the various auctions this week so although it may have little effect with future sales the sellers of GTs at BJ must be ecstatic!!

I bought Neil's car this evening. No doubt that it's a big number for an 05 GT, but I like that it's 1/1, great story, came with three crates of documentation and FGT history, and it's been driven so I don't have to worry about putting my own miles on it.

BLUE WITH SILVER STRIPES. ONE ONLY. NOT QUITE LIKE THE SONIC BLUE BUT COOL!!’
