In the spirit of Spy vs Spy Here is what happened running both car same day , same conditions , same driver, pretty much back to back runs flat out down the air strip. !! On March 9 2019 . I had a wonderful day of running both cars at the JBPG speed testing event on the Shuttle landing strip

Spy 1 : Helenor , 2006 pulley and tune GT. X-pipe, CC rotors, lightweight wheels.. R6's in the rear .PS cups up front.

Spy 2 : 2017 Ford GT, Borla X-Pipe. all else stock. all runs V max mode

Weather was hot, mid 80*s no real wind..10 degrees cooler would have added 1 to 2 MPH for sure..

Well .. chalk one up for the old school team !! Helenor ( 2006 GT ) was faster across the board.!! Helenor Ran a 192.098 MPH in the standing mile . Stormy ( 2017 GT ) Ran a 182.082 MPH.

In the 2.7 miles Stormy closed the gap but was still a little Short of Helenor's top speed.

In the 2.7 miles Helenor hit 214.097 MPH on thier equipment. My GPS read 216 MPH going thru the traps.

in the 2.7 miles Stormy's best run was a 213.002 MPH.

Booth cars ran great !! I made a lot more passes in the new Car. Played with LC , manual shifting etc.. fastest way down the strip is LC, auto shifting , V-max mode..

I had a little logistics problem getting both cars up there. Forum member and good friend " Shesgotlegs" aka Terry was a big help .!!! . He drove Helenor approx 3 hours up to the event location for me.. Thanks again Terry !!

Moderator please update my 200 MPH club.. !! It's not 300 MPH but that's the fastest I have ever been a car !! :geek:
I didn't see god but images of Barbra Eden passed thru my mind as I passed thru coco beach !!2019-04-03 13.13.17.jpg2019-03-13 21.45.02.jpg2019-04-03 13.11.01.jpg2019-04-03 13.11.01.jpg2019-04-03 13.13.41.jpg2019-04-08 12.29.27.jpg

Stormy would have run faster had you not installed the tire stickers which cause the additional drag, notice they were suspiciously removed from Helenor
Congrats Brian

As much as I love the 05/06 GT... Stormy looks much better going down the road...

2.7 miles!!! That's heaven!! We did the 1 mile and 1.3 miles at the Mojave Airport.
Good speed, and congrats!

Ed

Interesting data points. Thanks for sharing Brian.

Wow! Great idea and good times!
With the mods, 2006 ? hP

Brian,

Holy shit dude 192 mph in the standing mile with a pully-tune '06 GT is unreal. Most of them make 175 to 180 tops. 190+ is incredable. Well done. That's a hell of a tune!!

Hitting 216 mph in your '06, Dang Brian!!! Excellent!

I know nothing about how long it takes to reach a top speed. Was there anything left in it?

And nice to have the IMRA world records for both cars too. Congrats!(y)

I hit 193.3 in the mile with pulley and tune on a cool spring morning in 2013. Strong tailwind is a key factor! Without the tailwind, I think your range is normal.

Great comparison Brian. The 06 is impressive even at her age!

Awesomeness.... both cars are so impressive....

Thanks for sharing. That’s awesome!!

cool writeup wish I could've done it to.

Excellent Brian but if you had run the EFS in the 2017 Ford GT you would have run faster! Guaranteed! PS The 06 would have run even faster on EFS!

Sorry what is EFS?

Great comparison Stormcat! I am somewhat surprised Stormy did not win the mile top speed.

Where were they both in the 1/2 mile? Did they share that data?

That's a cool write up Brian and what a fun day that had to be

Nice job Brian, cars look great.
