Looking for Double DIN

Anybody have a double DIN they would consider selling?
Carbon or painted is fine. Used or any condition.
I don't know if anyone else is making them again.

I'm also interested in one.
Been looking for a long time , but have not found one yet.
 
I wish someone would pick this back up and run with it. I would love to have one, maybe two. Who was it that originally made these? And are the molds not accessible?
 
Kip Ewing made these. I spoke to him at Rally 10 and he said that less than 20 aluminum double DINs were done of which I am fortunate enough to have one in my car. He also made some carbon fiber ones as well. Not sure if he has plans to resume production.
 
Kip, if you're counting, I'd take one too - preferably in aluminum.
 
If less than 20 were made, I purchased half of the total production. Have been asking kip for all types of parts for the last couple years. Doesn't seem to be interested in making any Ford GT parts anymore. Wish he would pass along or sell his molds, etc to someone that could pick up where he left off. Plenty of demand for all this stuff.

Isn't Kip a little busy with his day job these days? :)
 
I have the plug done. Just need to build the mold. It will look a hair different from this picture once manufactured in just a few areas. Just been trying to get caught up with my business but this has been done since May.

I have a new/never installed aluminum unit. I could part with it, let me try and find what I paid for it.

I am going to need you to drop everything else and finish this project :)
 
Should be able to take one and have it duplicated with a 3d printer pretty easy if there was a group order made..
 
If safety is a concern of yours I believe the dins are a safety feature and a structural member.

This is somewhat tru. But the D.D that kip made was made from 3 pieces of cast alum of some sort and welded together. No were near as strong as oe. SO no matter what if you want a dd you will lose that strength in that area. Mine will be fiberglass, carbon and kevlar and they will be very strong..
 
Any news or progress to report?
 
I love my Dbl Din CF unit Kip made...
 
I may can find time to build u one if needed?
 
I would possibly trade one for a stock one.
