In addition to the custom exhaust, this Ford GT owner also wanted a custom induction to feed the 3.3L Whipple. Here is what Kevin Kesterson at M2K came up with! What do you all think??

Notice the Heat Shields between the exhaust and filters to keep things as cool as possible.

Interesting, it should free up some ponies (original lets flow in less than flow out). Looks somehow similar to what the GT guys sell (see here). Does this one allow the original (know it's dead heavy) exhaust to be used ?

It does look similar to the Gt guys intake due to the fact that you are limited on filter placement in the engine compartment without the filters attracting to much heat. There are some differences between the two but the major one is that our heat shield setup does not completely seal off the area that the filter is in. This setup still utilizes the stock hatch fresh air inlets that used to seal directly to the airbox. They do not seal to the hatch completely but utilize some of the cool air being forced through the hatch at speed which is directed in to the compartment the filter is in thus providing plenty of fresh cool air. To answer your fitment question this was a one off built induction for this particular customer but if enough interest is gauged we will sell a very similar production unit that will fit the factory exhaust.

Speaking of HEAT - are you guys thinking about layering in any heat barriers on the clamshell (I.e., http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dei-010392 )

Interesting is it made of aluminium.

Can it be polished.

Do you know the increase on HP.

How much will it cost.

Very nice work.
Cost?

Interesting that the ducting is black - which will absorb heat the fastest. Why not leave it as reflective as possible?

Without putting thermometers in the back corners to see how cool the air is, I'm just guessing, but it sure doesn't look like it would provide cool air back there. Unless the dyno shows increased HP, I'll stay with the stock air cleaner, since it surely does take cool air from outside the car.

I am in awe of the engineering. No questions. The benefits will be proven on the road and track.
Thanks for all you are doing to keep us moving forward.

Mark - Wow, the work sure looks top notch! Love the tip design and the creativity/uniqueness is awesome! On the new air inlet design - once again a great attention to detail (love the clamps and how they are clocked just right).

I largely agree with this comment - and have not been a fan of similar air intakes. In my view - especially when you seal the area, you have a large "dead air" space and virtually no turnover. To your point, Mark, I like that the area is NOT sealed. I think these designs are tricky to validate. Typical dyno tests are with the clamshell open, sometimes no diffuser (as in provided photos) and with large fans mixing the air around. The dyno will spit out a number. Put that same car on the road with a closed clamshell and the diffuser in place sealing the bottom up - and you may have quite a different HP/TQ number. All that said, if anyone is gonna do extreme testing, I have confidence that Mark knows how to eek out all the HP he can get!!

I think it looks badass.

Tha stock airbox actually draws some air from inside the engine bay just above the exhaust manifolds.

I'll take one!

I was looking at your website and need you to contact me ASAP. I am ready to sign up for the X package that produces 15000hp+

...15000hp+
:eek :eek :eek

For an Ocean Liner???

No doubt that is a typo but we caught that in the first review but obviously we assumed that got fixed. I just sent another message to have that fixed... On another note, with enough money who knows what's possible. Thanks for the heads up..

Your going to, and a couple others possibly. You guys have an enclosed trailer to pick up customers cars or do you contract that out?

We do have enclosed trailers. We have a 44' stacker trailer, 30' enclosed bumper pull and an 18' open featherlite with nose cone.... If it's out of state we will contract that out if need be but can arrange to have picked up. All pulled by a Freightliner Sport chasis....
