No... no... No!

I guess they're not selling very well - :thumbsdow

So there is the answer to how many exist. So far only 1 (the model) and more built when ordered.

"6 Chassis standing by"

Lets hope those were salvage or ordered form Ford Parts Dept

That's a horrible end even for a "salvage" car!

I saw it last year at The Quail event and it is just wrong. They mucked it up

Just read the article, I think this will be a one (1) and done deal.

GTR1 is DOA. Need Rescue Program - Let's make an offer of the (6) six potential 'donor' cars. :biggrin

The front is just horrible. The side is ok and I guess would be (IMO) actually considered "nice" if I didn't know a GT was killed in order to create it.

I've never understood the logic behind the whole endeavor.

really? - let me have somebody spell it out for ya!

No, I wasn't referring to the $$$ motive...I was referring to the whole idea of messing with/modifying/morphing a FGT into something different looks-wise.

'Never made any sense to me.

Seen the car several times in person, it was worse in person than the pix I initially saw. The the smurf interior?

This what happens when you have amateurs trying to create something from a recognized master piece. It reminds me of those atrocious camper shells you see on the highway ruining the lines of a professionally styled truck.

So looks like they are going to try to market this, again, and now are letting the press drive it.

My favorite comments:

"The only thing I'm not fully in love with is the styling. From the rear three-quarter view, the GTR1 looks really cool, and reasonably unique. But from the front, I can't help but think it still looks like a less-attractive GT, with some odd Jaguar XK cues thrown in there, too"

After looking at all the photos, it is clear that Galpin took everything that is gorgeous about the GT...front end, headlights, hood, doors, haunches, clamshell, rear end...and completely and utterly destroyed it.

The only thing remotely positive I can say it that it is unique. Literally. And I hope it stays that way. One is one too many.

Incredibly ugly, this embodies everything I don't like about today's styling.

As of the last report as I know it, they have sold zero of them.

If they wait long enough, selling those 6 donor cars will cover the development costs. :lol
