The car has whipple and FRPP exhaust (stock headers and cats)
A question is will it pass CA smog? I was told it would but I highly doubt it...
In case it does not pass, please PM me if you know any place that knows how to work the magic :biggrin

Mine with the gt guys setup passes with flying colors

I'm going to assume CO's smog reg are not even remotely as strict as CA, but I could be wrong

OP, not sure why a Whipple would in and I itself would result in a failed smog. What usually kills you is a tune that deactivates sensors and keeps them out of 'readiness' or use of race cats/no cats.

Since Whipple is in Fresno, wouldn't they know if it passes or not?

The car is tuned with SCT but it still retains stock cats. Guess I need to call Whipple to find out...

Sounds like he had to revert to the stock tune for smog. Like I said, many tunes screw with the OBD readiness of one or more sensors. I believe you can one? Sensor out of 'readiness' but anymore than that constitutes a fail.

And LOL, didnt know that was you, Greg:)

Much appreciated for your help!!

It will pass Ca. smog if you revert to the stock tune. If you're running a MaFia you'll also have to disconnect it and return the oem harness to the air box.

Just remember to stay off the boost when running the stock tune and Whipple.

Excellent point, I should have stated that.

The whippled GT passed without any changes to the tune before the test. MIne went after that (stock), also passed. There's somthing that they disabled (not sure what it is) but it was done on my stock car and the whippled car. I'll ask and post.

Sam, it was great meeting you and again I appreciate your help on the referral and some good advise.
Anyways, the car passed smog with flying colors.

And you were worried :biggrin. Nice meeting you as well. Good luck with registration. Let me know when you're ready to go see Kendall. :thumbsup
