New GT owner and I have some questions.

To fix your clamshell latch.

1. Put some tape around the perimeter of your latch mechanism so that you can remove/replace it into the same location.
2. Remove the latch and put a small thickness washer under the mechanism (under at both screw locations) to lift the assembly slightly.
3. This is a quick-fix and you should NOT use a very thick washer as it will cause misalignment between the clamshell and roof. However, for stubborn closing problems, just this small tweak will cause them to close easier.

Hope this helps.

I agree. The thickness of a single stainless washer was enough to take my clamshell from requiring a heavy slam to closing nice and smoothly. I did not notice any difference between the 05 bumpers and 06 springs.

Does anyone have a picture of a black whipple installed?

For the GT500 there is a blower upgrade called the super snake or something where they rework your gears in the stock snout and port the blower to give 8 additional pounds of boost with the stock pulley. Has anyone done such mod to one of these, I think the total cost of the work is around $1000.

SEARCH is your friend.

SEARCH is your friend.

The search sucks, and I dont always have 2 hours to browse through 2 year old threads looking for something specific, only to find out dated info anyway. I searched for 30 minutes on the blower gears and found nothing relevant. Heck if everyone searched and found everything they could archive the entire forum and no one would ever have to post, how boring would your work day be then!

just searched "black whipple" and through the fist 4 pages came up empty handed. so in short, search is not my friend

I have used search and found what I am looking for but it sometimes takes all night to go through 30+ threads to get it.

The car is way out of production, and things tend to die down naturally. New guys with "new to them" questions will help keep things alive here.

Just MHO :thumbsup

NICE! When will your car come home?

I have found that searching via google including "fordgtforum" yields better results than the forum search funtion. It hasn't been the same since the website change IMO.

Yellow is awesome! Beautiful

My second GT will be Yellow!!!:thumbsup
