Loud for 285HP

I have never seen a car get a dyno moving that quick.

i believe that was an auto trans with a HIGH stall torque converter.

my viper on spray rips through 4th gear with vicious speed on a dyno. but then it only revs to 6,000 rpm's....

A friend of mine just bought a 2012 SCJ with the 4.0 liter Whipple. It's supposed to get delivered to my shop in an hour or two. I can't wait to check it out. I'll be sure to get some pictures, dyno sheets and video of it at the track.

Since the prices on 2007-2009 GT500s have come down quite a bit I've been kicking around the idea of building a 2008 Cobra Jet replica as a street car. There is a new 2012 CJ locally with all the bells and whistles that can probably be had for the low $90s. Fast Freddy, isn't this on your wish list?

i just bought a used year 2009 Yamaha V-Max today that has been all tricked out and modified. it has been lowered and has a wider wheel in the back with a 240 rear tire. it dyno'd 182 rwhp.... it is one sic ride. i will post pix of it soon....

as far as the cobra jet is concerned i am waiting to see if the 2013 will get the 5.8L motor. if so i will wait until like 2016 and look to pick up a used one with the 10 point cage and 2 speed auto trans and 4.0L whipple....

Do you mean building a replica out of your GT500?

Would like to see those.

No. I would buy a white GT500 and build it as a Cobra Jet. I have seen white 2007-2009 GT500s for as low as the high $20s. Another $20k or so in mods and you have a street Cobra Jet. It would not be exact copy but close enough to peg the cool meter.
