I need some new rear tires. If anyone has a set please pm me. Thanks!

As of a couple weeks ago, the Goodyear wholesale warehouse here in KC had a couple pairs of rears left.
I believe they are the 06 production run.
I can check with them tomorrow to see if they still have them if you'd like?

Save yourself some money and get a better set of tires with the Bridgestones......

MNJason - I was thinking the same thing. IMHO - there is no comparison - the Bridgestones are much improved.

Good year does not seem to have made any of the 315 40 19 super car f1 tires since 2006. They are back ordered since may 2010 and as of last week no production date is set. So all that you might find is some old tires in a warehouse. I just went through the search and found only tire rack and online tires were willing to take orders but both told me back order and no price preset. but their web listed $570 per tire. Goodyear web sit lists the price at $770 per tire but when called non in stock and would not take a back order.

The Bridgestones sizes are 345/35R19 Potenza Scuderia RE050A for the rears $361 each and 265/40R18 Potenza(Porsche)N1 RE050A for the front $260 each . These have almost the same rolling diameter as the OEM tires.

Does anyone know why GY decided to drop the ball on a production run? Did GY est. that the sales number would be too poor so they decided to drop the line and give the replacement market to other companies, or are they just that poorly managed?

Clinton -

For one, I believe they are moving the production to a new plant, and secondly they are phasing out the Eagle F1 Supercar and replacing them with the Eagle F1 Supercar F1:G2. I just don't know if they plan to make a run in our wheel sizes...

I've heard that the F1:G2 is a much improved tire.

Just need to order the Bridgestones. Where is the best place to order?

I just got the Bridgestones from Tirerack in 3 days. The Bridgestone store near my house had nothing but morons in it.

The production date for the rears is Nov 7, 2010 and Sept 20 for the fronts, at the OK plant.
The product codes for the tires are (389024128) Fronts and (389025128) For the rears.
The dates I have have Quoted came from the Head office in Akon OH, and from the Canadian head office as well. (I live in Toronto)
There is No stock across NA according to Goodyear inc Corporate stores.

#@^* Fresh Tires for the Ralley would have been nice!

Mike.

Just bought Bridgestones. Thx again!

I also just decided I will also go for the Bridgestones 265/40/18 (n1's) and 345/35/19 with the corrected alignment.
Talking to Terry (shesgotleggs) helped me make my mind up.

Mike

Those are exactly what I switched to a year ago, prior to driving out to Rally IV and back. You will be thoroughly impressed with the improvement!

He is not exaggerating. I rode inKJRGTs car right after riding in mine with stock Goodyears and what a difference. I have the Bridgestones now and it is amazing how much quieter and smooth the car rides.

For some reason my eyes keep going goofy for a while after seeing that Avatar from nsfkid. yikes.gif

So do I need to get my GT aligned after new tires are on? Or bolt on and go?

New tires don't change the alignment settings unless you buy those new funky tires with negative camber built in. Since wheel alignment is critical to how tires perform and wear, shops that install tires usually recommend an alignment check and adjustment after installing a set. That said, few if any shops will have in stock a set of FGT shims, without which, only front and rear toe can be adjusted correctly with the PROPER PARTS!
