Dallas Rally to Rally IV


For one who will be out of the country during the rally, you guys are getting pretty intense about it. Hope it goes well, I can see the management of the logistics is fairly complex! Have a great time, and drive safe.

The plan is to have dinner here on Monday. Then Tuesday morning we go to Sam Packs private car museum. Whenever we are done at the museum we will pack things up and head down to college station. Texas World Speedway opens to us Wednesday morning.

I think most of us are staying in College station on Tuesday night. We have a few cars we can throw luggage in. Then on Wednesday after the track our group will heard over to Austin. You can stay in Austin i you want, I know there will be a large group already there. The "East coast Contingent" is planing on staying in Austin Tuesday and heading for Texas World Speedway Wednesday morning.

The "West Coast Contingent" also is spending the night Tuesday in Austin and heading over to TWS Wed morning. At least a lot that I know are.

Those going the Dallas rally as well others may want to invest in a cheap set of FRS radios. Like the Motorla . It make things like passing, and exits easier, the group also felt more connected. I will have at least two on hand. If you buy any I would recommend ones that will take "over the counter" batteries so that charging is not an issue.

Any special rate, promo or code to use? Any certain person to ask for familiar with our group? Parking garage? Any special area for GT parking?
 
None that I've been able to find. Rate is $229/night + tax. Fubar checked it out and says parking is good. Close to everything. See you Monday.
 
Unfortunately we don't have a group rate. I believe Mark and I were more concerned with finding somewhere that we could park safely and not worry about our cars.

If anyone wants to park in my garage I am about 1 mile up the road and can ferry people back to the hotel on Monday night.

I found a state employee rate of $89.00 at the Embassy Suites in Frisco. It is smack in the middle of Matt's house and the restaurant. My wife works for the school district.........Free FULL made to order breakfast & comp drinks in the evening, each rooom is a suite and could be shared easily...2 beds or king in the master and a full fold out couch in the den. Also can get a govt rate of $113 (you will need some govt ID) at the host Marriott. They have a AAA rate too. Just thought Embassy was a great location & price. Just built in 2005 and is just across the tollway from Matts....right next to huge Stonebriar Mall. We are staying at Embassy. Just FYI.:thumbsup

I will be attending the dinner at Bob's on Monday night and leaving to go Austin on tues
