Stunts, Helicoil taps are a larger dia. with the same pitch. They aren't actually a size that you can ask for. They are made specifically for helicoil inserts and not (as far as I know) used for any other purpose. The 10-24 should represent the bolt size that will fit into the inside the helicoil insert. The correct tap will come in the kit but most places sell the taps seperately also. Hope that helps!
The drill size for a 10-24 Heli-Coil is 13/64" (.2031") for Aluminum and #5 (.2055") for Steel It takes a special Heli-Coil tap (3CPB or 3CPA); A regular tap won't work; You need to get the Heli-Coil Kit (5401-3)!!! :thumbsup
you guys rock!! Unfortunately everywhere I have gone, has not had the 10/24 KIT.... every other KIT has been present but the 10/24. I can't go any bigger on my drill hole as it is for a wheel on my cobra.....
A regular Tap will not work in the correct size? because of fine vs. course thread?
:confused
