Dropped her off at Galpin today.... I have about 2 weeks left on my 3 year... My advisor is Great and has made up for the ignorance of the operators that have called me over the years wanted to schedule maintenance for my mustang...

Also for the bloke who called and reminded me that my warranty was coming to an end and wanted to see if I wanted to purchase an extended warranty.... which I did..... and then was told.... there isn't one available for that car...sorry, thought it was a mustang...

But... my advisor.... has replaced my half shaft bolts, my window seal, fixed my deck lid, re-aligned my body panels... and now is replacing the other window seal, checking my under panels to make sure all my screws are there....

so I asked, "How picky can I be" he said, "Go for it" I showed him some wear on my passenger seat obviously from the seat belt... stated there are only 9,800 miles on the car and not 50% of that had a passenger...he replied,"Not a problem, we'll get you a new seat"

I believe these are all true warranted items.... and not being a picky guy, I got picky and got NO PROBLEMS from my Advisor.... I Like that....

Now thats a good service experience! I love it when people share the POSITIVES. Just makes my day! :thumbsup

haven't forgotten about you, been a little busy and indecisive.....

Thanks for the talk last week...

and yeah..... good stories are.... well..... just that......good to hear aren't they? :cheers

#1153 left Wixsom and never returned to a Ford dealer, was reimbursed for the halft shaft bolts. Thanks to GT Guys, Shadowman and Evan Guyett for great after care.

Local guys here (Carthage) are also excellent. First name basis. Allowed me to work with the master tech to do the alignment on 1161. Anytime I call they don't even have to look at the car. "If you say its not right ... its not right." Have passenger window sitting in garage for replacement when GT Guys are around since I was not comfortable with their guy.

WHEN I buy a new Ford no matter where I am at ... these guys have my business. Can't give enough :thumbsup's for them ....

If they called and asked to place the GT on a show for a sales event .. hands down be there tomorrow.

I'm right there with you Tim. My warranty dies on August 23rd, and I've been wrestling with trying to find all the "picky" things that need addressed or just saying, "Oh well" and letting them slide.

For instance, there's a pretty severe distortion in my rear window. It's not a major issue, but technically this is a factory defect...

I had SM Ford address the buzzing in my driver's door (no doubt from the aluminum trim, and they did the TSB on the new fasteners several months ago so I let them fix that a couple weeks ago while they were doing the windshield -- which I paid for myself to fix 16,000 miles worth of chips/pits).

I keep fearing my "engine stall at idle" issue will return, but it only did this a couple times and hasn't done it for several months. Probably will return with a vengence on August 24th...

No other issues pop to mind, though I'm sure if I went over it carefully I could find more. Hmmm...

Glad you hear your Galipin guy is treating you right! :thumbsup

If you notice a rattle noise when you close the door and it's not from the door. I found my pass front headlight had something loose in it. You can tap on the light with your fingers and hear and see the projector eye moving around.

Thought I would toss that in for a final warranty check. one of the team members said they had a bad batch of them and thought they caught most all of them.

Let please me know who you worked with at Galpin. I hear Grody Ford in Buena Park is also good and Rancho Santa Margarita Ford. I was using Citrus in Ontario and they were fine for some stuff but my friend was the GM, he has since moved out of state. He would baby sit the car. Not so trusting without that extra assurance. Not that they have ever done anything wrong.
