As we all know how nice the CF stuff looks it would be nice to have a thread for future searches that could be updated with actual weight savings.
This could also include non CF items as well. Maybe the thread could grow legs and as anyone changes a part they could weigh the original and the new.

Example:
    • New CF hood -14- Original -24- saving 10#
    • New CF console___ Original____
    • Rear Bumper delete___ Original___
    • Muffler replaced with X-pipe___ original___

And one of the more significant, no brainer (IMO) weight savings:

4. Muffler delete...

Is there a carbon fiber part in the muffler delete, or were you just wanting the weight savings involved with deleting it.

You should add to your list the CF side scoops from Kip. My guess is at least 5 lbs each savings.. I could be wrong but it can add up especially when you do the CF center, door rings and dash.

With the 25 lbs of weight I have lost over the past 6 month I think I have taken at least 50 lbs off the car.:cheers

The Stock hood is around 24lbs. there are two versions smooth back & rough back. the CF hood is around 14 lbs of ten pounds less. Which is a high percentage in weight reduction. The CF hood looks killer on the GT and the back of our CF hood is incredible. You can see mine in St. Pete or sooner if you come to the east coast. My little kick plate SJB cover is more for looks but it will save about a pound...

Lightweight/small battery, weight savings 20-30 lbs

FRPP brake rotors. Each ~2 lb. lighter than stock, so ~8 lb. total savings not to mention that this is a reduction in both unsprung and rotating mass. Plus they look totally cool.

I've had the side scoops out for a lighting project. They are plastic. I didn't weigh them but they don't weigh 5lbs, more like 2 to 3 lbs max and that may be a guess on the heavy side..??

Joe do you have original and FRPP weights?

This will be cool to see how much our Gals can loose if needed.

From a prior post by Florigator:

OE Front rotor - 10.8kg
OE Rear rotor - 9.9kg

Two-piece front rotor - 9.8kg
Two-piece rear rotor - 9.0kg

Just the weight savings from canning it. Is there any other single item that results in a greater weight loss?

Personal diets? :biggrin

I have the console I just took out of ama's car still here. I can go put it on a scale real quick.

OK. console is 5.4 lb. This is without the a/c controls in it. The parking brake bezel is .5 lb.

should add a cost column. cost per # is a useful metric also.

On bicycles, sending a $1 per gram is cheap!

FGT diet

I bet one could lose over 100 lbs by replacing almost all non-engine fastners with Ti. Ti springs & lug nuts are easy.

Got the muffler at 55 :winknow I need a actual weight of a x-pipe?:confused

Some one have a weight on the cast iron manifolds as opposed to the headers?:confused

I bet Shadowman has some of these figures........hmmmm
