CF GT Luggage Rack/Wing Please

The only real complain I have on my GT is the lack of storage space so how about a carbon fiber luggage rack that sits on the rear deck that looks like (and funcation like) a giant rear wing? The wing (luggage rack platform) has to be just high enough about the rear sightline but it still wouldn't be too high and look out of place. When designed this way, the lazy me don't even have to take the rack off the car when I don't have anything to carry. The big wing should be wide enough to hold two carry-on sized luggages side by side. So how about it Kip or Stormcat??? Bony for sure will buy two and turn them into a bi-wing setup. And whoever that makes this, I expect a $50 royalty on each unit sold.

Why only $50? Your loyalty is far more valuable than any lousy royalty. :biggrin

hehe big typo, corrected. But hey my mind was on the big wing and the $50 bucks that kept coming in....

Hey, Bruce, all horse feathers aside, I THINK Genaddi design has designed a rear "trunk" for the GT. As I recall, they redo the clam shell so it hinges at the front instead of the rear, and the "trunk" (basically) sits were the stock muffler is.

Anyway, it was something like that. I'm a bit 'foggy' on whether they did, in fact, decide to follow thru on that project though.

You could contact 'em and find out (if you really would like some extra storage space that is).

Why not one of those little trailers like the Prowlers used to have? That would look pimp in Carbon! Hell, it would be universal and work with other cars in the stable as well. Carbon fiber matches all paint codes! :biggrin

I'm tempted to do it....but I'd have to get rid of my Borla:confused....

I've placed a down payment on GTB's....maybe next year for this mod

Ya, but those quick lane changes & panic stops for looney drives are OUT if you opt for this option.

And, if you think backing a GT up is a pblm NOW...:lol

Cool video but does anyone know how big the trunk will be? $12,000 for the whole conversion isn't too bad especailly it includes the bumper delete.

As to the wing, ricer looking or not but was thinking more like a GT3 RS type wing:

or a tuned down street version of the Matech wing:

Not to mention the improved downforce coming out of fast sweepers at high speed.

Bruce,
You will have to lead the way on the wing. It is not the look for me. Sorry.

Wings like that need to be on devoted track cars. It is too radical for a street car.

The Gennadi trunk runs entirely across the width of the car. It's wide enough to hold a set of golf clubs (small carry bag) or several duffels, and as Kirby told me, cold as a cucumber back there since he drove the car.

Does anyone have a picture of the Gennadi rear trunk yet?

Try these. You do not have to have the X-1 conversion to have this option done, and the hydraulics are pretty neat.

Another. Remember, these are the prototype that Mark brought to Newport Beach. The accessory battery will have been relocated. Also note, no room for exhaust, Borla or X pipes will not fit.

Wow, I can sleep in this trunk!!! I'm sold, Gennadi's website said the conversion includes cat back system. Wonder how they route the pipes now and how it sounds??

Yes, so what exhaust(s) is compatible with this conversion?
