HELLO!
I'm in Vegas once a month to help Mrs. Bony look in on her 92 year old independent living father. As a 'foodie' I can honestly state that today Vegas may be the number one world city to enjoy great restaurants. The concern is always safe parking where the owner can avoid the valets. We have been staying at the Wynn, the GM of the F Car store owns a FGT. The same group (Stations) owns the Red Rock and Green Valley and they are nice places.
The super pools with beaches, cabanas at Cesars, Mandalay, Palm and Hard Rock are amazing.

Hard Rock enjoys a close proximity of a multi-level parking garage to the Hotel - been to great SEMA parties using that location/facility - it would seem to be easy secure as well.

Nobu at the HARD ROCK has to be the finest sushi restaurant in the USA....
great pool, good steakhouse, and decent location.

I'm in for this trip. A great drive from Phoenix to Las Vegas.

Please know that it will most likely still be around 100 degrees in Vegas in Sept. I think it would be a good idea to stay off of the strip. Traffic around the strip is stop and go 24/7. At 100 degrees, this would not be good for a bunch of GTs.

"THE HOTEL" is the upscale hotel that is attached to the Mandalay Bay. The entire parking area & entrance is covered. There's a huge Valet lot directly in front of the entrance that we might be able to commandeer. Our cars would be in plain sight 24/7.

Plenty to do over at the Mandalay as well...

How did my name not get on the list? I'm in with car. Will probably meet with DBTGT and anyone else coming from the East (I'm glad MAD in NC has chosen the southern route). I vote off strip. What's 800 Vipers compared to 100 + GT's. Any word from Bart Carter or Mr. Wolf?

Yes Chris!
The Mandalay has DuCase's restaurant Mix as well as Palmer's Auerole. I do prefer the Four Seasons which is part of the property. The pool at the Mandalay is great.

Bony...no kidding..I eat at Auerloe EVERY TIME I go to Vegas....no trip is complete without a meal there. Four Seasons is great too but I only mentioned THE Hotel because of the parking.

I just started building a new Charlie Palmer restaurant here in So Cal....cant wait till it's done:thumbsup.

Daniel, you are absolutely right about Vegas being a great town now for some of the best restaurants anywhere. An incredible transformation from a few years ago. We're off to New York next week and they hold their own in that category. Glad the Broadway strike is settled.

The Wynn is a winner. It's the only hotel in Vegas that has been awarded both 5 Stars and 5 Diamonds. I had an opportunity to meet Steve Wynn last year shortly after he received the honors and he was understandably very proud. Made a joke about his former Bellagio being second class.

Stations opened Red Rock last year to much fanfare as the first $1B off-strip casino. If there's not a need to stay on the strip, it's a decent choice - new, no strip traffic, adjoining parking garage and our FGTs might be a bit safer away from all of the crazy tourists.

If the strip is not a requirement, I've stayed at Ritz Carlton Lake Las Vegas a number of times. Might be a little too sedate for some.

Whatever the choice, I have a connection there and would be happy to help in securing good rates and other arrangements.

Aloha mentioned the Wynn's parking garage, so, since I have The Wynn on speed dial :biggrin, I called and asked about the possibility of having space set aside for a group. Bottom line: they set group space aside all the time - just give them a bit of advance notice. September should pose no pblm at all 'availability wise' acc'ding to what I was told. I ALSO asked about ground clearance on the 'ramps!!! The gentleman says a FGT will go up & down the SOUTH garage entrance/exit ramps w/o a pblm. 'Plenty of clearance. He personally has driven FGT's over 'em.

I didn't bother to go beyond that into the areas of security patrols, costs, and the like at this point for obvious reasons. However, I have the name & 'number of the Valet Mgr jotted down, so if y'all decide that's the way you want to go, it'd be no sweat to contact him & find out about all that & set it up if desired.

Submitted just FYI...

Wynn is amazing. Plus could negociate the possibility of allowing THE GT GUYS to work oin their shop. However, I'm sure Shelby Automobiles are Parts can set aside space. Wynn has the best restaurants of any hotel in Vegas. The nightclub and pool are not happening...

So Larry, are you coming, or do you have a 'conflict ' ?? We can start an excuse thread just for you... :)
