    Speedo Calibration

So, I know that the speed limiter is set to 205, and the Speedos tend to be optimistic above 150. If I want to really do 205, do I need to reset the limiter? In my car a GPS speed of 162 equals about 150 on the speedo. If the limiter user the same speed sensor, is it going to shut down at...

    Need Diffuser Sheet Metal

Hi, The leading edge of the diffuser apparently lost it's screws on the way to San Luis Obisbo from San Diego this weekend. The air caught it and bent it down enough to hit the pavement where it was then curled back under the car. The noise was horrendous, but when I saw the problem I proceeded...

    Fog Lights Warranty

I took my '05 in for it's final check before the end of the warranty period last week. One of the issues was a slightly balky shifter, primarily in the side to side motion. It was just a little sticky. I thought all it needed was lubrication, but they ended up replacing both cables. Anyone else...

    Amazing Detail of a Detail

This is on the Meguiar's web site. It is a GREAT photo story of the transformation of a Toyota Tundra. I know, it's just a truck, but take a look. It will inspire all of us AR guys to new heights. (Maybe that's not a good thing) Craig http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25974

Do any of you have a recommendation for a tuner in San Diego for a smaller pulley? My warranty is almost up so it is time for an upgrade:thumbsup, but I'm not sure who to take it to. I some reservations about the obvious choice. Craig

    Broken interior rear glass

My inside pane of the firewall glass has broken on both sides.:frown The drivers side seat hit it when reclined and caused a break on that side while the other just broke on it's own 12 months later. Has this happened to anyone else? There should be a stop on the fire wall (other than the glass)...

    Competition Belt Installation

I am planning on running the Silver State Classic in May and needed to add blets and a fire extinguisher. I know that there was an earlier post on Comp belts, but the eye bolts used don't line up with the cutouts in the seat, and take up too much room. The alternative of bolting a flat bracket...

    100 Octane in CA

I just filled up with VP unleaded 100 right from the pump at a station in Rancho Santa Fe in San Diego. VP has a CARB legal 100 octane fuel that they are going to start selling at stations throughout California. I downloaded the 100 octane tune from Accufab, but haven't tried it out yet as it is...

    GTX1 in San Diego

Chuck Speilman took delivery of his white GTX1 a few days ago. It is on display at his shop/museum "Only Yesterday" ( http://oldautos.com/ ) in Sorrento Valley in San Diego. If you haven't been there it is well worth visiting. His collection is amazing. I'll post some photos when I get them in a...

    Lowered Seats

We've all seen the photo's, and they look good, but has anyone's butt tried one? :biggrin I would like to sit in a car with the lowered seats before spending that kind of money. Does anyone in SoCal (San Diego) have a car with the lowered seats? I will also be up at Monterey Historics if...

    These guys are NUTS!!!

I know this isn't Ford GT related but it is about speed, and there is a relationship there. This video makes doing 212 on the Autoban look sane. These guys are really nuts!! :willy http://jbeas5.mine.nu/media/media2/hayabusa.wmv Craig

    My GT caught fire!

While downshifting into 2nd I apparently hit the key with my knee and turned to ignition off. I didn't realize it immediatly and gave the car some gas. When nothing happened I looked down to find the gages all off, and realized the problem, and did the natural thing, turned on the key. Wrong...

    Running Hot

I took my car to the track last weekend and it ran hot. In normal traffic and freeway speeds it is fine, but when pushed in 65 degree weather it was running 220+. The check engine light came on but things were normal after the car cooled down a bit. I knew that 220 won't hurt it but 235-240...

    Competition Belt attach points

Looking behind the seats there are two large Torx screws located on the Firewall right behind the harness slots in the seats. Does anyone know if these are attachment points for a harness? I couldn't see anything else they could be for. Craig

    Trailer Tie downs

I ordered tire tie down straps from Summit, and they don't really fit the rear tires very well, and they have two hooks. Looking at the manual, it shows a harness that goes around the tire and the ratchet tiedown strap is attached to the center of the tire harness. Someone said that the Ford...
