OK, i know eveyrone is going to pile on for not bein OEM/stock, but i have seen some vintage GT40s that had a yellow fog lamp. It was in a magazine shot, pit at some Euro race. Not amber, but yellow.

Who manufactures the current GT Fog lamp? CIBIE? and do they have a yellow lamp?

I have been thru this on some other cars and yellow is near impossible to get, unless your French :rofl, or have the yellow glass dye.

Used to be that all "fog' lamps were yellow and "driving" lamps were white/clear. You are correct that Cibie makes the current light. Haven't seen a yellow light in years cause white seems to work just fine as long as it's down low. You might check their website and look for a cross reference.

Neil or one of the other European guys can verify but at one time the French required yellow lights.

I have yellow Cibie fogs on my old 911, and I installed yellow film over the Bosch headlight lenses. I think yellow fogs would look great on my Tungsten GT. I think I'll look for a Cibie number on our fog lens. Chances are excellent that a yellow version exists, but maybe only in Europe (Desi, are you listening?).

I just looked in the Factory Manual and replacing the lens is no small project. It is done from the inside, behind the light assembly. The inner fender splash shields have to be removed as well as the windshield washer pump and reservoir (left side light), and evaporative emissions canister (right side light). Yellow film over the outer lens remains an option.

Drop the front spoiler, and you can reach up and loosen the lens retainers to replace the lens. I can't recall if the bulb replaces from the front when the lens is removed, or comes out from behind the lens assembly.

I did some other searching. May be easier to get a yellow bulb which reflects as yellow in the reflector.

I was thinking bulb too. I emailed CIBIE, now owned by Valeo (hella). Emailed 3 Cibie distributors, one off road site, and a consultant named daniel stern who appears to be a fog lamp guru

I can get some yellow protective film cut if someone would like. Talked to Chris today and he already has the pattern as I had him cut some xpel for them.

Also he has the full templates for the GT now.

It's possible to paint the glass on the original fog light - There is some special paint for made for it.

That will look cool :thumbsup

I would be interested. Is it stick & peel and removable?

My take is, it would need to be a deep yellow or gold, as the light might show white thru it.

If someone can post a super close up of the Cibie bulb, I have a distributor who says he can identify it, and yellow is available.

ps, Nice Quote under your handle

I ordered the yellow fog light tint from these people a while ago and just never got around to putting it on. I'll post pics when I get off my lazy butt. (scroll down to the bottom of the page) for the GT tint.

How is the qulity? Is headlight armor the best place for tint/protection?

Quality is as good as any other, it's 22 mm thick, optically clear, I've used it on other cars and it was easy to apply and looked very good. It seems to be a perfect cut for the outer fog lenses. From other cars I've done, it is easy to remove if/when you don't want the yellow look anymore.

This the part # on lens
