I was in Maryville, IL at X2 Collision today. He has 3 GT's on salvage, one heritage, one black/silver, one all black. Horribly wrecked cars. Very sad to see. He's a viper specialist, and had 6 cars to work on. Did say no problem getting parts, even A-arms.

I've never been there but have been watching his eBay ads. He has listed the cars several times but been unable to sell them. I've priced parts from time to time but they're too high for me. Lately he keeps relisting a 239 mi engine for $28K on ebay but no bidders yet. I agree, the cars looked pretty blasted from the pictures. I think one of the cars was claimed to have a clear (non-salvage) title. I'd like to know the story behind that one.

Has sold the engine and tranny already to someone with a project car.

Really? I just saw the engine ($28,500.) re-listed again today on eBay. This is the third listing on this motor. Was there another engine ? :confused

It appears that several folks are doing a decent job rebuilding FGT's... looks like lots of inventory to keep them busy and making $$$$$$$$$$

I agree. A lot of GT's are getting cracked up. It's nice to see some of them get back on the road again. :thumbsup

So I looked at the website, and sure enough, there are two GTs for sale, one a Heritage/salvage, the other all black with a "clean" or "clear" title, (and three others as cars for parting out). Black car has had 55,000 miles on it (site states "this is not a misprint"). Now, other than the fact the car looks like it got into a fist fight with a Sherman tank and lost, how can this car have a clear/clean title? Does that mean the insurance co didn't do a complete write off on the car, or that the previous owner just threw in the towel and didn't file a claim on the car to the extent it was damaged? Assuming one could buy and repair the car on the cheap (which their pricing doesn't seem to allow), this might be a nice way to have a track car and not be kept up at night if one bent it again.

Clear tittle means that the car was never written off as a salvage.
That is why a PPI is a must, to insure that the repairs are beyond the skin and everything is as good as when the unit left the factory.

His prices are too high.

I want to re-build a GT, but it seems parts pricing is way out of whack to make it feasible here in Canada.
