Why It's Going To Be Damn Hard To Buy A New Ford GT

Well I know there has been much griping about purchase of a GT or the anticipation of a purchase with all the variables out there. I know there are many that have suggested some type of loyalty program for past Ford (total) purchases and I'm wondering if the following concept can be adapted to the 2016 GT.

I'm not sure if it's common knowledge but if you are an owner of a McLaren F1 you were the first to be offered a P1 with matching production numbers. So if you had the 30th F1 produced you were able to buy # 30 P1. Now I know there were over 4000 Ford GT's built and it seems that there will be under 1000 new 2016 and future GT's to be built. Can part of this concept be adapted by Ford? The matching numbers might not work but how many current owners would be interested in a $400,000. model before it's offered to the general public?
