I need some help to choose the right tires for my FORD GTX-1. I have new SEMA-edition wheels 19”and 20” I want tire size :255/35-ZR19 and 335/30-ZR20

I have to choose between PIRELLI PZERO ROSSO ASIMMETRICO and MICHELIN PILOT SPORT SP2

1) PIRELLI 335/30-ZR20 is only available with “”N0””(Porsche) code

PIRELLI 255/35-ZR19 is available without a code , or with “”MO’’(Mercedes)code , which one is correct for THE GT????

2)MICHELIN 335/30-ZR20 is available in 2 codes N0 AND N2 , which one is correct for the GT?

MICHELIN 255/35-ZR19 is available in 3 codes RO1,MO, *, which one is correct for the GT?

THANKS,

Willem,

To the best of my knowledge, the codes on the tires are typically tread pattern variations as dictated by a car manufacturer - traditionally during the development of the car. For example, Mercedes or Porsche may test a certain tire and then ask the manufacture for minor tread tweaks to reduce noise or improve some other characteristic for a specific application.

As such, I don't think that there is a right and a wrong for the GT. I would advise that you probably want to get the same code for front and rear of the car if that is possible.

I agree with Kendall, although I'm no expert. My feeling is that the Michelin's are superior overall. I had Pirelli PZero Assimetrico's on my Jaguar XK8, no where in the league of the GT or GTX1, and they really sucked. Wore out quickly, too. Put Michelins on and they were much better. 10K miles and they still looked new.
