What is a fair price for a used GT? I am seeing numbers all over the place?

What's the criteria? Year? Color? Options? Miles? Locale? New or used? Stock or modified?

welcome to the site, you will find much discussion here on that topic.
Use the search button for hour of reading and learning.:cheers

Fair price

How high is up ?

Seriously through...economists apply the " willing seller and willing buyer both operating in their own best interests"

I have been following the mkt for the last 2 months.
Prices are not going down anymore. It will be difficult to find one below $150k (for cars with less than 3k miles).

I don't think colors and options make a huge difference....

Some datapoint

05 red 4 options 1k miles sold $153k
05 silver 4 options 2k miles sold $160k
05 silver 4 options 3k miles sold $154k
05 yellow 4 options 8k miles sold $139k ebay and then $143k retail

1 months ago it was possible to find cars in the $147-150k area.
Today it's difficult.
I am not a believer these cars will continue to go up. I think this is the second phase of people that didn't get them new.

As they get driven the price will go down (notice the 8k mile one was $10k cheaper than anything else).
I would have loved to have found a higher miles one... as I am planning on driving mine a lot... But i had to suck it up and pay...
Good luck with your search.

market update

Tha,ks Matteo!
I know you have done your homework!
Thanks for sharing!
Let us know when you get your baby!

Yeah thanks Matteo, that was all I was looking for.
My thoughts are that there are probably a very few out there that are disciplined enough to ship these cars home and place them on blocks without driving them. I am sure most are going to drive them like they are bucking for the next "The One" commercial spot. I just wonder if the price will dip below 140?

Well the yellow one with 8k miles was on autotrader for 138k for 2 weeks.

I believe that when these cars hit 10k miles they will be in the $130k-140k range.

There are several threads about prices and depreciation etc.

There is 1 guy (I forgot the username) that calculated a $2 depreciation per mile for the 1st 20k miles... I think this is right.

Having said that, as cars go from punters and people that NEEDED to have the 1st car out on the street and land in the hands of the enthusiasts, the supply will shrink.

Also right now it is a nation wide search. Unless you are in Soco or Florida the chances are that your car is 1,000 miles away.

You are right about that. My local ford dealer just sold there to someone in spain. I am surprised at how many dealers have them in my area(seattle)

I know of a 3 option silver/black '05 that sold for $140K in late December. She had less then 3K miles on her at the time of the sale.

Good luck with your search.

Best Regards,
Waldo

How much is owning & driving one NOW worth to you(?) as opposed to standing on the sidewalk (so to speak) and watching others do so as you wait for prices to get to whatever level some THINK the prices will be ...someday ...maybe? "Price" is only ONE consideration and I suggest it's not the top one with these cars.

'Just my $.02.

If you can layout 150k to 170k for a car most don't care about the price, so much as having a Gal that is special! Most can see the eye candy, she is simply stunning! I had no idea how special she really was till I rolled the window down, rolled her through the gears (like butter I might add) listening to whole car come together as the smile on my face got wide!

Thats what it's all about.. In my humble opinon She is "second to none" There are few things you really have to do before you go....and thats own a Ford GT!

A fair price is anything you paid for it. I paid $15k over window for my white car and $20k for my black one which I sold right off and covered my legal costs on the white one and the over costs. No complaints, it was fair. My car, 1153 is for sale, price is all the tea in china. Everything is for sale.

Fair Price?

I agree with most of the earlier posts concerning FGT pricing. Might the costs go down? I say unlikely due to the ever-shrinking number available due to accidents completely destroying some of them. And no more are being made. These are not “Cookie-Cutter-Corvettes”, fantastic cars, but in an unlimited supply. :rofl
My car “for all the tea in China”, sure, but only after I am 6 feet under. :ack
Find “The One” you want and Buy-It!:thumbsup
