Use the search and look for "demographics". :lol

Excellent response DBK! Bravo

do i have to be nice?

Of the dozen owners I have met, two are doctors, a few are retired (not sure what from) a few own their own business (I am in this group) and two made a ton from internet businesses they sold. These two were the youngest.
No sure this helps.

Wish I were in the last group. :frown

Here's what you do....

FIRST....if you're living in a socialist country like Canada, get out. 2. Start your own business. 3. Don't buy anything, especially luxury goods like the GT. 4. Eleminate all debt. 5. Work hard. 6. (Very important) Don't get a divorce. If you do get a divorce, start over at step one. 7. When the purchase price is irrelevant, write the check and ENJOY. :cheers :thumbsup :biggrin :banana
Oh yeah, I own and operate a service station. The toughest step for me was #6.

Chip,

Great advice to inquiring minds and anyone who's trying to figure it out. You're right, step #6 can be brutal. Acquiring wealth and maintaining health is a breeze compared to making relationships work for the long haul. I'd add work smart as well to #5 but great post! Easy to say, hard to do!!! :thumbsup

I think it was Rod Stewart who said 'why bother with marriage, just simply find a woman you don't like very much and give her your house....'

I was talking to a divorce lawyer recently (I am happily married) and he remarked that marriage is a bit like a series of hurricanes - rather a lot of blowing to begin with and then you lose your house... :lol

Now THAT is really funny. :lol

avoiding step 6

always get a prenup. makes things more relaxed. Then, as you acquire assets, rule is : one for you, one for her, that way it remains a fair deal, but still keeps you all free in the head.
Buy her a Fitnessclub life membership, to keep things 'windy' :biggrin good bodies like to move it, move it..
... or eventually consider Mr Howard Stern's view: If the woman is ugly, then it is ok for him to cheat...

HE said that, NOT MEEEE! :biggrin :wink :lol

I was always told that if you keep one foot on the floor, it's not really cheating. Not sure our wive's would agree! :biggrin

Neil,
that must have been a Clinton quote! :lol

to avoid 6 (II)

Matavarium,

don't buy a GT! (A divorce can even be more expensive :biggrin)

But back to your question - you do not really want to know, not? - could even be more frustrating for you than not to afford a GT... :thumbsup

Yeah, Howard Stern is definitely someone you want to take marrital advice from! :lol You guys are starting to ruin my lovely image that you are all happily married!!! :frown Marriage can't be THAT terrible! Not all women are materialistic & I'm not even going to touch on cheating, because I hope no one on here has even considerend that! I'd like to think that if it came down to getting a few million in assets for a divorce or giving it another chance w/the man she fell in love with, a woman would choose the latter (unless of course the guy did one of the few "unforgiveables")... If divorce was inevitable, there are plenty of women who I'm sure would walk away from it w/what they brought into it & not make the man go back to "#1". :wink I'm still waiting for my knight in shining armor & still believe in "happily ever after". Maybe that's why I'm still single?

Piccola, unfortunately the experience of many wealthy men is that they do end up losing their assets - in the UK you can now lose half your future income too! So you might be married for a year, lose say $10m in the divorce and a futher $20m from your future earnings.

If only all girls were like you..... :wink

Hey thanks everyone ! you people owning a GT are really opened and not selfish. Seriously I really thought I wouldnt really be accepted here since im young and not rich. Thanks for the 7 advices you said, I was thinking of moving to california and finish my studies there but it is really expensive compared to here in canada. But you sure do seem to have a wealthier and nicer future living there. About the marriage thing , im really not planning on marrying a woman(well im young and naive as for now) but anyway I just think that if you really love a woman and so does she why do you have to marry her ? what does it give more? anyway probably most of you disagree with that but thats only one lil canadian poor guys opinion :wink Really glad people told me advices. Just one more thing , did any of you guys went to university (no need to have the name or program. Just a yes or no) just want to know if it is really a need and how much does it cost around in california.

Thanks all! really great guys!

I did. However, I can tell you that most of the richest people I know never did, but worked very hard, mostly for their own businesses.

What you can do to significantly lower your university costs:
1) Get a scholarship
2) Become a California Resident
3) Finish your studies earlier by taking a few more classes every term

And believe me, the last woman I lived with cost me much, much more than a GT. So watch out!

In the US it is too easy to be sued. There is no penalty for filing a suit and is many lawyers will take a case on a contingency basis. The party being sued will often settle just because it is cheaper than paying attorney fees. In the UK is there a provision that the losing party pays attorney fees to reduce the number of frivolous lawsuits?
