We're in ! Matech goes to Le Mans with the Ford GT1


Your congratulations mean a huge amount to us. We have a lot of history to live up to, and rest assured we will be doing everything possible to achieve the best result.

Much planning and preparations for us, and we will share them with you so that we can all meet at Le Mans and kick a few tyres. Can I assume you would all like a close inspection of the car in June :-)

I assume that Matech will be at the April Le Mans testing. Do you know the date? Please keep us updated on the results.

I guess I'm the first one signing up for the "close inspection" in June. Current plan is to leave the States on the 11th, right after my 13th year old's middle school graduation ceremony, drop them off in Paris, leave for LeMans for 2 days and meet back with the family on the 14th for the family vacation....

Yes, you may assume that. I would anticipate as many as 20 members and their wives will be attending. Be careful what you offer us......because we're going to show up! :biggrin

I don't think we will be testing in April. The cars will be in Abu Dhabi for the first race of the GT1 World Championship. We will be competing in the Spa 1000km though.

Having 20 families from the Ford GT forum join us at Le Mans would be fantastic. I plan to meet with the race organisers in the next couple of weeks to talk about spaces etc. and understand about the possibilities of setting space aside for the Ford GT contingent of cars for those of you who are considering driving there (I'm guessing the European members perhaps). We'll keep you informed as plans develop.
