Went to the 1/4 mile track tonight

So you know the track, the elevation is 2710', prep is NON existent (meaning I spin in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear) and it was in the 80's and 90's the entire night. My car is stock down to the filter and tires, except I have a 91 octane tune w/ much less timing that a stock tune 03 cobra is commanded to make.

My 2 best times were as follows:

The weather at the time of this pass was 81.8*, 29.80" pressure, 15% humidity. Density Altitude = 4982 feet

2.210
5.712
8.495
88.690
10.813
12.873
113.434

Corrected 12.06 @ 120.61

The weather at the time of this pass, according to wunderground was 82.4*, 29.79" pressure, 16% humidity. Density Altitude = 5037 feet

2.192
5.701
8.490
88.192
10.815
12.882
112.965

Corrected 12.04 @ 120.37

My first pass ever in the car right off the highway after a 70 mile canyon drive was a 12.946 @ 112.525. The weather was 85.7*, 15% humidity, 29.78" pressure. Density Altitude = 5252 feet. Corrected 12.05 @ 120.3

The white cobra I raced in this vid went 12.85 @ 113.1 tonight on nittos w/ a 2.1X 60'. He has run a best 11.786 @ 116.038 on this track on MT DR's and has gone a best overall of 11.508 @ 120.22 at a much better track.

I also lined up with P Machy. He has an 03 cobra w/ 2.8" pulley, 4.10 gears, FIPK, maggie catted X, catback, and a tweaked predator 91 octane tune. We lined them up on the wide open 14 freeway from 40-140...We were dead even with me pulling 1/2 a car, if any. We then went again from 60-145 with similar results. Dave went 12.17 @ 113 tonight on MT dr's...but his slip flew out of the window when we raced.

There was some GTO's with mods at the track running mid 14's, all evo's and sti's were running 14's or 15's, a supra turbo was running 14's, a C5 Vert was running 14's and a sweet 280sx (2500#) w/ a small block chevy running 11.30's @ 127 n/a.

For comparison's sake my 04 cobra vert went a best of 13.19 @ 106 w/ a 2.05 60' on nittos at this track.

At a track with prep and better than a 5000' DA, this is a legitimate 11 second car with nothing but a tune (maybe even stock). Hell, I think on tire at LACR I could run 11's...P Machy almost did it and I was = with him on the highway. I didn't get any no tune runs in because I forgot my xcal2 at home. :willy

BTW, I was crossing the traps near the top of 3rd...I would have to go to 4th on a better track.

The track at Palmdale (LACR) is notorious for being "non-prepped" with a horrible starting line. Just based on that your times were pretty good.

I hope that you will join us in October in Fontana at California Dragway for the Accufab GT get together. I can promise you a very will prepared drag strip and alot of fun too. The dates are October 21-22, in conjunction with the Fun Ford Weekend drag race and car show.

If I am still in Los Angeles I'd love to go, but I am moving to Chicago and will most likely be gone before then.

I am going back on friday with some ET Streets, I think I'll hit 11's.
