Maybe a dumb question,:confused but did everyone get valve stem caps on there wheels or am I the only one that got a new car without the caps..
The thought that someone at the dealer gave themselves a Christmas present did accrue to me.

All came with caps.

If yours didn't, your suspicion is most likely true.

I would have a "discussion" with the dealer.

I just went out to my warehouse to look at my wheel piles (yes, I have piles since I change the wheels on all my cars :biggrin ).
Mine has them. They are nothing great, but they do look nice with the engraved BBS on them.:banana

The optional wheel caps are metal and have BBS - don't take anything less.

I echo everybody else's response.
Mine has BBS wheels & 'caps on all fours.
(It IS possible the delivery prep dude removed all of 'em to check the delivery air pressure and just simply forgot to reinstall 'em. That DOES happen ... sometimes ... I suppose...)

Make sure the replacements are of equal or better quality. The cheaper replaements will actually bond/ fuse themselves to the brass stems. Had it happen on one car. Pretty much had to cut the stems off and replace the stems and caps. Saved $5 and spent $60 later!

Missing 3 of my 4 caps at delivery

3 of my 4 caps were missing when I received my car, but I didn't notice it until I was already home with the car. The selling dealership was terrible and I vowed never to do another thing with that crew. I researched the cap issue a bit and never was able to find any way, from Ford or BBS, to to just get the replacement "BBS engraved" caps. You can buy the entire valve stem replacements with the caps for $13 per stem through the dealer parts department, which is what I ended up doing to get the correct caps.

INSTALATION INSTRUCTIONS: Place the stem cover on the tire stem. Then take one of the caps and the little key. my 2005 GT came sans valve caps. However, if you want something special for about $14 bucks, go on ford collection web site and they have a set of 4 with the blue Ford oval. Very nice look. However, because valve caps are small to begin with, only you will know you have unique beauties on your GT. Of course, my opinion is that I do not care what other people think. I buy what I like, not to show, but to enjoy.

I met a manager from BBS at a recent event. He said he could get the caps if any of us needed them. Maybe he can or maybe just talk. I am out of town until the 6th. When I get back I will pull out his card and call him.

predelivery required tire pres. check and make sure car started, DO NOT TEST DRIVE CAR! Possibly mechanic forgot to reinstall them or thought they were cool to keep. PS if interested AutoZone has several color anadized valve stem caps.

I got a reply back from BBS today and they will provide us with the caps. Apparently the caps for the two types of wheels are different. If you need caps send me a pm with what type wheels you have and how many you need along with your mailing address. If the numbers don't get crazy I will get them and mail them to you.
