Toys for Tots

Sounds like a fun event. Wish I wan't 2,500 miles away from you!

Last weekend I was in Havasu City, Az. with some vintage sprint car friends. For the West Coast Vintage racers year end event at Havasu 95 Speedway.

The track operator has supported the Toys for Tots program for many years. However this year he did something a little different. Rasied the entry fee by $5, a mandatory donation, to purchase brand new Bicycles and Trikes for the local Tots. He worked out a special deal with Sears, Kmart and Walmart and got enough $ to buy 45 units.

So at the pre-race drivers meeting, we vintage types upped the ante' a bit. And there will now be 75 new bikes and trikes under someone's Chistmas Tree. And an invitation to ride their new wheels around the 3/8 mile track at a future event. How Cool is that!
