I've seen this on e-bay, but only in that ugly blue. Waiting for brilliant, bright, sunny, uplifting red/white.

I hear the red ones are not only faster but stronger as well.

don't hate blue is my favorite. :willy

That is one of the funniest things I have seen.

Pop Culture takes to the GT.

Yes, and the red ones are also quite a bit lighter as well. The only bad thing about them is they attract beautiful women like moths to a flame. My wife insists that I should not fraternize with these ladies, many of whom seem to feel the need for disrobing in the presence of GT Greatness, but I'm only trying to be polite. Anyone else having the same problem?

You May Need A Chaperone

Rocket,
This may be why Mrs. Spirit thinks I need a chaperone while out in the GT.:biggrin

Yes. The only reason I'm still married is the GT is the first item she takes, leaving me penniless, GTless and balding. (Not exactly a chick magnet). :frown

It is proven scientific fact that a wonderful transformation occurs when in the driver's seat of the GT. George Costanza look-alikes transform into modern versions of Cary Grant when seated behind the steering wheel. We become raconteurs, men of the world, with fine taste in wine, hilariously funny jokes, and blindingly white teeth (especially Ed Simms). No wonder Jeremy Clarkson did not want to get out of his GT!

Rocket, you just described Spirit to a "T." You are absolutely right about RED being the chick magnet. Heritage owners still haven't figured that out yet cause they have to explain the colors.

I thought red was the taxicab of GT colors. You see one on every street corner. I saw a girl mistake one for the new beetle one time.

Sticking to the women theme.... Red heads are smoken hot and silver is the color of grandmas hair. :lol

Dr. Frank,
It only appeared that way because Mrs. Spirit was there with me at the time.:biggrin
We all know when it comes down to a GT "Face Off", the women and the public in general will ALWAYS go for the HERITAGE.:wink :biggrin :wink

Heriage Hair?

Steve,
I agree.
However, "True" Redheads have "Orange" hair that matches the Heritage Epic Orange paint color.:wink
I love my wife with the Heritage Hair Color.:thumbsup

Hey SteveA, getting off the subject just a little. Could you tell me a little about the GT40 in your avatar pic. That one looks to be an original road car. Thanks, TI

No fair, hijacking the thread - that is p.m. material!! :wink (actually that car appears to be a Mark III).

Sorry Rocket, won't do that again. Still trying to feel my way around here. I'm walking on egg shells. It looks like a MK1 to me.

No worries. To get 'er back on track, in defense of Red cars, not only are they faster and lighter but also red is the predominant color of our favorite holiday of the year - that's right, Valentine's Day! And what do we usually see on Valentine's Day if we are good boys? We see red lingerie on our favorite gal! And if we are really good, later on we don't.

i keep seeing all this chatter about other color gt's ????
i thought red was the only color produced--the other colors were experimental mules and after the factory was done with them, they were given away to suzuki dealers as give-aways ?????????????????????

sam
#1451--------red/white
#003----extreme saleen
parnelli jones --------being built #173

The car is a MKI #1060 purchased from CS in 68'. It started out RED with stipes and lots of racing decals but was painted white to tone it down a bit in an attempt to get it licensed. It came with MKII "none functional" break intakes stuck on the back. The car spent it's first year touring dealer show rooms pretending to be a MKII :smash. We were told the dealers wanted a MKII due to the 1 2 3 66' win and for the most part couldn't tell the difference.
The first trip to the DMV it failed due to ground height. The second failed due to headlights to low. The third trip... one wiper blade. The forth Pops got smart and went there at 4:55 PM on Friday. The clerk asked " Ford GT Mark I is that like a Mach I"?
My father "uhhhhh..... yes it is"
The clerk "well then I don't need to go outside and look at it"

STAMP

The clerk "Approved, goodnight".
