Wow.. my new to me GT arrived last night. I had not been so excited since I bought my first car... I felt like a child waking up on Christmas day...

I couldn't drive it today as I need to get to the DMV with the title and get a tag.. so no driving impressions yet...

But I have a question.. I was browsing the user manual and it looks like there is no way to lower the seat. Is this correct?
I am 6'3" and I am very close to the roof with my head. It's ok now... but there is no way I will fit in it with a helmet.

Thanks for your help.

Me too . . .

If you search the Forum for "lowering seat", there is method being used to gain up to an extra inch of clearance.

Good luck, and please let me know your results.:bang

It's correct ...sort of.
The seat can be lowered by removing padding accd'ing to posts here on the Forum.
But, lowering the seat on the 'rails any other way is not accounted for "adjustment-wise".
Use the site search engine. There are thread(s) herein that deal with this situation. I just don't remember their exact title(s) right now.

There really is no way to lower the seat. Removal of padding is a band-aid fix. The other option for a helmet is adding the Gurney style bubble. Do a search for Gurnery, bubble, or Gurney bubble. You will also find pictures.

Move the seat forward and recline the back until your helmet clears.

I will try that, thank you!

I am not sure I want to get the bubble. Right now I am not sure about how many track days the GT will see...

Thanks again for all the inputs.

Hi Matteo - congratulations on your GT!

I race mine from time to time and am also 6'3" when standing straight!

Unfortunately the helmet I wear does kind of wedge into place which is dangerous.

Each time I've tracked mine I've loved it - but I always swear I won't do it again as it is very punishing on tyres, clutch and gearbox. Fun though! :biggrin

I recently sent genaddi my seat for the lowering option . I got it back a couple of weeks ago and I must say it does make a world of difference . I am nearly 2 meters tall and every centimeter counts . Previous to the seat mod I had to duck when closing the door. I also rode with the seat slightly forward so I could tilt back more . However the problem with that is you sacrifice legroom to gain headroom. Now I sit with the seat back all the way and tilted all the way with no problems .

Hope that helps
