Rally 8 was the last time the GT has been on a 100+ mile drive, sad but true. The C7 was getting all the seat time but that's another excuse. Yesterday morning we hit some back roads south down around Warm Springs and back. I could never convince Donna to drive the GT but after 3 1/2 years she wanted to give it a try and took the wheel coming back for a 35 mile drive. Don't know why it took her so long but it's a start.

Careful what you ask for. :biggrin

Congrats!.........................................I think... :lol

I think it is great! Good for you Donna. My wife hasn't driven mine since she realized she couldn't see over the dash. That was eight years ago. So I had booster cushions custom made, and still she hasn't been back in the car. Some day...

Don't let her drive it. Next thing they'll want the right to vote...

My wife won't drive it - she's sworn off manual transmissions. She hasn't driven one since the 70's and even won't drive our daughters' cars - both have manual trans...

My wife ground some ZF gears in our Pantera in 1986. She hasn't wanted to drive the GT

Wifey has never driven anything but automatics. She r-e-f-u-s-e-d to drive a manual trans car back when she was learning to drive and has driven ONLY automatics ever since. I bought my S-10 DD with automatic just in case she HAD to drive it sometime...and there have been 2 occasions when that did in fact turn out to be the case.

IMHO all ladies should learn how to 'row their own' just in case they have to for some reason one day.

Buuuuuuuuuuttttt, yeeeew know how stubburn wemmingz can be...

Mine used to drive manuals but doesn't like it any more. That's the excuse she uses for the girls' cars, but I think she just finds the Cobra and GT intimidating. She was along once when the Cobra rear end broke loose going out of the subdivision (cool morning, cold tires and pavement). So it's more fear than anything. The GT with the Bridgesstones is much more "handleable" than the Cobra and she still won't try. And I use the excuse that some time I might need a backup driver but she still won't even try.

Secretly I am afraid she might actually like it and that might force me to get her a cool car too. Now that I think of it a Lotus Elise would fit her perfectly :)

I guess you'll just have to get her an automatic - say, a paddle shifting Ferrari or Maserati, maybe even an Aston Martin! - My daughter loves her Maser, and my son-in-law loves to put it in the sport mode for selected paddle shifting!

She had "paddle shift" in her 'Bimmer Turbo Terriffic' coupe...and never even considered using it.

I used it a couple of times, but 'didn't care for it at all. (I'm just too 'old skool' I guess.:bored)

As far as owning/driving any kind of high end luxo bus - forget it. She turned down a Bent. Cont. GT back in '07 (or so), remember?

Both of my daughters can drive manual transmissions. One loves to drive the GT but the other one is intimidated by it.

My wife's DD is a manual.
I'm happy to say that she drives all of our cars.
Even takes them out on her own, but calls to let me know first.
I wouldn't have it any other way.
As the saying goes......"happy wife, happy life!".
Best,
Mark
