Squeaky driver's seat

Tomcat

GT Owner
I noticed for the first time last evening that my driver's seat squeaks/creaks as I move around due to the dynamics of driving. I changed the angle of the back seat and made sure that it was not rubbing on anything. It seems to be coming from the lower lumbar area between the seat material and the carbon fiber shell.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tom

Tom, try pushing it back against the firewall and see if it still squeaks. If it doesn't squeak there, that gives you something to compare against. Since I'm fairly long in the legs, I drive with the seat all the way back and have never heard what you describe.

Roger...it seems like flex noise. What do the two "star fasteners" wth some sort of grommet on each side of the seat do?

I was thinking maybe you should stop wearing bikini undies like Frank's.

Cured.
Across/opposite from the seat back angle adjustment knob is a plastic cap (on carbon fiber shell of the seat next to the center console) . Pulling that cap exposed the other end of the rotating shaft/mechanism for the seat rake adjustment. I squirted some white lithium grease in there and moved the knob through the full range of motion a few times and sqeak is GONE!

Thanks, good to know.

BTW, with only 40,000 miles on it, yer not driving it enough!

AGREED!!!

BTW, I have the same problem :( and my GT is only 6k miles
I turn the radio on all the time to not hear the squeak sound hhhh

I will try your way an i hope the sound will go

It's squeaking because you don't drive it enough.
