So What are You Planning to do With or On Your FGT This Year?

I have a list of things I would like to get done on my FGT this year (I really don’t go anywhere so the with part doesn’t apply):

1. Address the difficulty I have opening the frunk (there is an interference at the front of it now)
2. Repaint the ugly black wheels back to silver (the shade is still a mystery)
3. Install the new tires I bought last year
4. Fix the head unit (the aftermarket screen won’t retract - it binds up)
5. Do something with the carbon fiber interior I bought awhile back, Install it or get rid of it

Other than standard maintenance and anything breaking, these are my goals for the year.

What is everyone else planning to do?

But the tires are Bridgestones…..LOL

I like black wheels on late model Shelbys and new Broncos.

Not on FGTs tho.

Good move IMO.

1. Try to determine if there's a different brake pad I can switch to so I don't have to clean the wheels after every 10-20 mile drive. I don't track, so just need to stop while regular ol' street driving.

2. Trailer up to Rich for maintenance.

3. Drive more.

Install the new engine cover struts I just received. Mine are weakening. I noticed it when it was cold out (for Florida) a few weeks ago and when I was parked on a slight down slope.

Drive it, plus perform the 55k service

Drive the GT more, get past 80,000 miles.
Install the Whipple supercharger and tune I bought 4 years ago!

There is a tiny hole near the base of the ball. There is supposed to be a little wire clip which keeps the ball from popping off the connection point. Mine came off after I failed to miss a pothole on the way to a cars and coffee. I went to an auto supply and bought some strut ends and used those clips. $10 fix.

Drain and change ALL the fluids.

Replace the ClearPlex on the windshield.

I'd like to take 12 seconds off my lap time. Gotta beat them Miata's! May need your SC Pete.

Joe Dozzo, if you find clearplex someplace, please post. Seems to have dried up most places for the old GT.

Just drive it around...

Frank...I have the Stek product on my GT2RS, it's a better product. Although Clearplex has served me well on the GT for about 10k miles and still going...

Mine has been on for 15 years and 35k miles. Don't leave home without it.

There is! Or at least there used to be. I'm sure Rich can help.

Drive. Enjoy. Repeat.

Hmmm, never really thought of annual project plans for my vehicles. I kind of just lay out the stuff where I'll see it often and then try to do it on an as you go basis, in a timely fashion.

Although recently I was thinking it'd be nice to have a white board to separate the projects.

Well, I find it can be good to set some goals in early January so when New Years comes around you know what all you didn't do.
