Single Post Lift Question

Does anyone have any expertise/knowledge on a "good" single post lift? I have had many 4 post lifts as well as several 2 post lifts in my shop but for my personal home garage I was thinking on maybe the single post lift and going away from the standard 4 post lift to allow for more space maybe. If anyone has any knowledge of good or bad with the use of them I would greatly appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Mark H.

Hi Mark,
My only experience, Someone in the complex just installed one. It was manufactured in China, big surprise. It striped two bolts and slightly bent on his first try. He is going back and forth trying to get it fixed. For $6,500 you would think it could pick up a 69 camaro. I do not know him, but I can try and find out the manufacturer for you.
Good luck, Kirk

I did a little research on this before I bought my four post lift but ultimately decided on the four post, but what I found out in my research the only one that's really good is the one that's made in America. It's called American custom lift. You can actually even dig the concrete out and bury the foot so you don't have to drive over it. The only thing holding me back was the price it seemed to be about double the price of a four post. and just double check the width of the deck without the curb rail the Ford GT's are really wide. but they're super low profile no ramps needed ,for my four post I had to get race ramps.

+1 I too really wanted singles for our Florida home. AC Lifts was the only one worth considering. Sadly didn't go that route, as they are quite expensive.

Mark, As the others have mentioned, American Custom Lifts is Made in the USA.
Researched a few years ago, ultimately decided not to do a lift.

NordLift They have cool single post and mobile column lifts for car workshops. No hands on experience with them, but have seen their lift euipment used in light rail vehicle maintenance facilities. Look high quality.

I store my 05 on a single post made by Lift King (CDN)Excellent for storage but sketchy for servicing etc. I have several of their 4 post versions as well and am very happy with them.
Likely a little far North for you but message me if you’d like more info.

Didnt "maximus" have a crazy garage, and a single post, that had a 911 on it? Tried to search, could not locate.

I have the AC single post. Garage is 10’. Let me know if I can answer any questions!

Subscribed, let us know how it goes….
I have a 4 post but interested in a single post as well

Called ACL and got the info on the lifts. Seem like a very well made product and is probably exactly what I want. LIke many have said, very nice product but pricey to say the least comparted to anything else. I am thinking on ordering one unit, and get it installed and then going back for more if it works like they say. I need 3 in the garage to do what I want and at a price take of $15K each or more, it gets costly.

LOL, anytime you want, swing by the shop. Kevin and Ryan are there every day. They would love to help you out with whatever you need. If I can do anything, just let me know. Here are photos of half of the shop. I think just one GT there right now, but its under cover on top of the lift. Seems folks do more chevy builds these days but the guys work on it all... Trust me when I say the shop is kept very clean......

I have a the American Custom Lift single pole and also had it customer ordered Blue and Orange to match my 2006 Heritage. I have had it for 10 years with no issues, the space it saved in my garage was perfect. The only issue is you can't take off tires a car but you can change oil and have access to the underside. Mostly it allows me to store another car underneath it.

I bought mine from American Custom Lifts and they even painted it orange and blue to match my Heritage. I love it, I can't remove any wheels but I can change the oil. Mostly it allows me to have an extra car in my garage.

If taking off the wheels was important to you, you could use a set of Quick Jacks to raise the car while on the lift. I've done this on a 4 post, cant see why not on the single post.
