shortening the shifter


Thanks for the replys (sorry for the delayed response...ideal snow conditions in the Rockies!) I will be ordering one and installing it myself shortly !
 
Keep in mind that the Canadian GT's had standard radio. No sub-woofer to mess with.

Not a terribly "tough" job. Be careful with the center console. As the FRRP short throw assembly replaces the standard unit, no cable adjustments needed. Go with the metal shift bushings over the nylon ones.I would expect it would be less than an hour total time.

One of the best changes one can do to make the GT even easier to drive.

My soon to be "Canadian" GT has all 4 options. Just going for inspection in 2 days to "Canadianize" it.

My inspections ( import and out of province) both went off without a hitch. I had some issues at the border re their evaluation vs the bill of sale amount but after an hour of explanation , the border agent understood and let me through. It definitely pays to play by the rules. Good luck on your "Canadianization" !
 
FBA...Canadianization...

So FBA......any hassles re the import/provincial inspection process?
 
None - car went through with no delays. I've done this several times without any issue. As long as you have the proper documentation, whether the car was purchased though a private or a dealer, you're good to go! Federal - all I did was add the DRL's by installing a relay connected to ignition, so it would pass. They didn't even make me start the car to check that feature. I could have not bothered to install it, but I like DRL's anyway. Provincial - they insisted on driving the car up the ramp to the lift, and would not let me do that, but the mechanic wore white gloves and didn't even breathe on the car before giving it a pass. Now - she's home --

She already has a few mods like pulley/tune/carpets/hot buttons/clear bra...and the next one will be the short shifter, but that's probably going to be the last mod I do. I only want to keep her as original as possible.
