Now let me begin by sharing that the items in the following pictures below have nothing to do with the gal depicted in the "Shadowman's Deep Massage Therapy" thread .
In this case a fellow simply wanted me to get him a spare engine and transaxle to tuck away for a rainy day. Now whether it will be ultimately be used as received or simply be the basis of a great starting point for a future project has yet to be decided and yet he is likely one of the few folks that have such a combination of new hardware neatly tucked away.
I have done a fair amount of research on the complete hand built engine situation and it would appear that their days are numbered. This particular engine arrived complete as can be seen; stem to stern with exhaust manifolds, the dry sump system and tank in place, the wiring harness, etc. ; truly a Saturday afternoon drop in assembly.
I share that their days are likely number because as one such an example; Ford Racing Products no longer offers them for sale and based on some insider information since the Romeo Plant is no longer building these engines every expectation is that once the very limited number of remaining units are sold the future will become that of individual parts only with some possibility of a long block to be offered and yet even this would not have the same constraints that were a key component of the hand built program that the original engines received.
In any case, more than anything I simply wanted to share a couple rather cool pictures.
