"Project Update"

I just wanted to share that one by one the pieces are being returned to the facility after being coated and they look stunning.

Here is the situation; I will not have the final per unit cost until all have of the vents been completed however I would like to ship them as completed rather than waiting to ship all of them at one time; meaning I would rather not wait until I have the associated cost because it will simply create shipping chaos for me.

Thus far the silver and the blue have been completed and the black and white are presently being tended to.

I would like to ship the pieces with the understanding that once I have the final costs that all involved with this project simply forward the requested funds either by check or PayPal at that time.

Those that know me and work with me understand that this is how I operate and live and yet I wanted to openly share with those for which our paths have yet to cross that this courtesy is being extended without reservation.

The honor system works both ways in a case such as this; I was entrusted to coat the vents as if my own without folks knowing advance what the process would cost only that it would be consistent with the value received.

Having hosted a number of GT Forum functions this group has shown themselves to be the most stand up a bunch of automobile enthusiasts in the world. I have no doubt everybody will pay ASAP after receiving Shadowman's tab.

That way.....members can avoid being barred from the Forum for life, having their Rally IV tickets confiscated, having their post count zeroed out, and having your cool billet, engraved, valve stem caps stolen off of your GT during your next cruise! :biggrin

Bill did screw one thing up however. He was supposed to do the black vents first!!!

To all on this forum; I have/had no concerns for payment but rather my purpose for the post was more to share that I was shipping the vents and that once completed I simply want to be able openly share to all at one time; "here is what it cost" and have the funds forwarded to me without having to notify each person separately.

Now Chip as for my screw-up; it was in fact a screw-up because FYI the black were completed first; in fact over a week ago however;

When I had the vents delivered to Brian my powder coater I taped the piece of an OEM black vent as shipped to me by ?? Petunia on one of them as a color match; so far so good and in doing so shared with the person delivering them that they needed to be a perfect match; we are still on the same page and doing fine however when they were returned to me the following was said "Brian hopes that he did the right thing because he did not realize that the sample as taped to the vents was upside down" as such he powder coated them flat black because thge underside of the OEM vents is only dusted with paint and not clear coated.

This is my story and I am sticking to it.
