"Set" color on OEM Seat Covers

Got my covers today. There was an instruction sheet saying you must wash in cold water with salt to "set" the dark color, so no color transfer occurs???


Anyone do this yet?
 
Yes I did this before putting the covers on and thus far (12 months) it works as advertised - no colour transfer.

Yeah, I color set mine as per the instructions. I have had them for a year and a half. No problems.
 
Same here, followed instructions and they have perfect ever since.
 
Yes, mine have have been on a year and half with no problems. I think it's time to pull them off and wash them again. Get that urine smell out of the passengers seat cover.

I was thinking about getting covers. Does anyone have a pic or two? I'd like to see how they look, and fit.
