Servicing in Massachusetts?

Bob Ida

Gforce I noticed that you have used bob Ida for some mods on your car. What did you have done. How much increased power was gained. If you have the exhaust, how does it sound.I was at boston sportscar gathering on sat. and got talking to a transport driver who said he was bringing a gt from the cape to N.J. next week for some mods could this be your car.I'm looking to have mods on my car.

I’ve just moved back to Boston myself and I’m also in need of a location to service my GT. I’ve been spoilt by Roush in England who service about fifty cars there. I believe one of the reasons Roush have been so good with these cars is because they see so many of them. With this in mind I’d be willing to try to co-ordinate a discussion with a single Boston area Ford dealer who, if we all agreed to use to service our Boston area cars, would in-turn agree to have a tech properly trained and treat the cars the way they deserve to be treated (it would also be nice to have loaner cars, etc). If you have an interest in this please PM me with your e-mail address and where you live so that I can plot all owners on a map and we can try to approach a single dealer most convenient to all owners. Although the fifty miles to RI is not a big deal, given many of us will never sell our cars, in my view it would be worth the effort of trying to organize a Boston area dealer who we could use for our cars for many years to come.

I’ll wait a week for PMs to gauge interest and then get back to everyone that contacts me.

Thanks,

Rob
i would love to help support getting a boston area dealer up to speed. i just picked up a battery for my heritage from tasca (they were the only dealer in the east that had one). i had no idea they had the only decent tech and facility around here. turns out it wasnt the battery so i guess im headed down there with the car. 60 miles is too far in my opinion.

From some of the comments I hear I think guys think these cars come from the other world. Sometimes an oil change is just an oil change. I made a set of ramps I can back up on, I use an electric screw gun to remove the pans and a large pan to drain the oil in. There are a lot of things to worry about but learning to do some of the basics really makes you part of the car, sometimes its easier just to do it than think about it.
