I just saw that the documentary I mentioned earlier in this thread (Grand Prix, the killer years) is going to be shown shortly on the HD Velocity channel. Grim stuff, but riveting.

Grand Prix- The Killer Years is currently running on the Velocity Channel. Hard to believe what a complete absence of safety measures they had in the 60's.
Jackie Stewart had to hire his own medical crew for a while and then led a driver effort focused on improving safety, mainly through track changes.
