Iconic engineer-designer (and my friend) Roy Lunn, Godfather of the Ford GT40 and the man who headed the teams responsible for the Mustang I, first unibody SUV, '83 Jeep Cherokee XJ and a portfolio of important vehicles, passed away at age 92. One of my fondest memories was when he asked if I could drive him to lunch in my Ford GT. He had never seen one in person before. It was an awesome experience, one that I will never forget. Gary Jean joined us with his red GT and shot this photo in 2015 at the Lakewood Ranch Country Club. What a day! Truly a man of his times, and he, with the Ford team, have left a marvelous legacy. Rest in Peace, Roy.

The article is a fitting tribute to a great man. Thank you Marty for giving me and Julie the opportunity to meet him.

That is an amazing life story - so many innovations and accomplishments, he was an automotive genius.
