I attended the ALMS race at Lime Rock today and spent a few moments with the Robertsons. They now have a second large trailer and are suddendly more popular than they were prior to LeMans! Their #1 car driven by Murray and Lazzaro finished 12th overall and 4th in class (ahead of a Ferrari by 1 second), a terrific performance (think about the factory supported BMWs, Corvettes and F-cars). The Robertson's car was not running at the end and finished 28th overall, 13th in class.

And their trailers are color coordinated with the color of the stripes on the respective GT's.

Here is one of my pictures from yesterday. Those GTs and Corvettes were LOUD. Also, good seeing you Stu, your GT sounded great with the GT Guys x pipe

Fantastic image what a beautiful car. Everyone else is fighting over table scraps in the looks dept.

A few pics from yesterday. It was roasting hot but fun. Best place for shade, action, close to track is the back at the end of No Name Straight into the uphill. Unfortunately, the secret is out and it was packed with fans.

The Falken Porsche was hit with a 90 second penalty for blocking Anthony on the final corner and moving over in front on before the start/finish line and the checkered flag on the final lap. This moved the #04 Ford GT (Murry/Lazzaro) onto the podium for third. The team also won the Michelin Green X Challenge for the GT class.

Two podiums in a row, on to Mosport in two weeks! Some nice pictures here:

Andrea had spin early in her run and we think that led to the motor issues with the #40 Piloti car. The boys are thrashing in the shop as I type this.

Would be nice if Ford kicked some funding there way.

Keep on piling up the results, perhaps it will shame them into a small re-allocation from the NASCAR budget. Hard to deny success, even if the GT isn't a 'live platform' for Ford.

Yet, the GT40 was never a 'live platform' - but had more factory backing than any other Ford racing venture. The Ford GT's are still one of the best advertisements for Ford, as we all know when we stop anywhere, even though the platform is 5-8 years old.

That is a fact!

Driving home I thought about the current dollar resource allocation in Ford Racing. Then I happened upon an idea. Ford happens to have one of the most talented/knowledgable engine guys currently working on its' drag racing program. Why not re-deploy Mose Nowland to develop an engine program for Robertson. This fellow has more working LeMans knowledge than just about anyone out there, he might even enjoy the challenge -- going back to see if it can be conquered again.

Maybe not the 'direct $$' factory sponsorship that we might be thinking, but cubic intelligence on engines and endurance racing. I'd bet that a solid tire deal with Michelin, Mose on powertrain and access to Ford's dynamic vehicle simulation could put some smiles on the faces in Dearborn!
