Regret selling this car

Me! This is my '69 911T I had in high school. It wasn't perfect, but it was fun. I bought it for $900, sold it for $1500 and thought I made out like a bandit... I saw one at auction a while back north of 100k!

1969 Trans Am
Gentlemen,
Most of us probably have one that got away that we deeply regret. In 1969 my father was the Pontiac dealer in Scottsdale, Arizona and the very first Trans Am was built on the first generation Firebird chassis. Only 697 Trans Ams were built that first year and our dealership received one. My mom used it to drive me to school when I was in 8th grade. I lusted after that car. A customer purchased it after a month in our garage but I never forgot it. 10 years later I was a year out of college and the dealership General Manager. On my way to work one day I saw a beat up old 1969 Trans Am in a parking lot with a For Sale sign in the window. It was not the car my mom drove but I verified it a genuine 69 TA and bought it for $1500. A no expense spared complete restoration was completed. It was a Ram Air IV, 4-speed with a blue interior. Everything was rebuilt to brand new. In 1995 I sold that car for $10,000. What the hell was I thinking. I've regretted it ever since. Only about 40 Of those first year TA's had Ram Air IV motors and they bring over $150,000.00 today. Damn, just damn I wish I still had that car.

There are a few... but the basic one for me is a 1986 Mustang SVO. This was the first real performance car I bought and I had so much fun with that car. probably wouldn't be worth much today, but I still loved it. :thumbsup

Mine is a 1969 Mach I, R code, 428CJ, shaker hood in candy apple red with a matte black hood.

I had one of these too. It is hard to even find a picture of one today. Bought for $2500 and traded in on a 1972 Cutlass Supreme. I was never a big fan of the mustang because it did not ventilate well and running the AC all the time took a lot of gas. It did not have the vents of the 1967-1968. So I got even by swapping the 428 with my 1967 390 before trading. I do wish I still had that 1967 altho the 1969 is worth a lot more money these days,
