I haven’t been able to install a short shifter due to the nationwide back order but when I do I'd like to see if I can "cut" one of these in the lower side of my tunnel. I know a bunch of Forum members have done shifter mod themselves. Does anyone out there think something like this might fit?

With the shifter cables and fuel tank, etc, in there I'd kinda doubt it.

I wouldn't think there'd be enough "horizontal" room for the travel arc of the 'holder.

Genaddi managed to install a center console pocket under the cushion......

There must be some space under there?

True, they do...but, that's a reeeeeeally shallow pocket directly on TOP of the console. (In terms of "function", that "pocket" is really pushin' it to house a cell phone.)

To be functional, you'd hafta mount the 'holder down on the SIDE of the console. That's where the pblms begin in accomodating the swing arc of that holder I would think.

FYI the clearance needed is 7"W x 1-3/8"H x 4-3/4"D

Thats a bummer about the Genaddi pocket.....I was considering doing that mod....

Cup Holder

Florida Chris showed me the one he got from mini cooper. It slides under the carpet, will hold a big gulp and the color matches the carper so you cannot see it. I have/ had one in my car until Gordo "borrowed" it this week end.

Search the net under mini cooper cup holder. Here is the link

I am sorry it does not work, I can't figure that out, but if you type in the link you will find your cup holder.

Don:thumbsup

That "Mini" cup holder looks like a perfect solution.. I think I'm gonna' order one up.

Thanks

Who needs to fabricate a cupholder when a roll of duct tape sitting on top of the center armrest will do? :biggrin

Cupholders? We don't need no stinkin' cup holders! :biggrin

Come on Roc'...we all know you really traded your GT for a GT500 because you wanted the two cupholders in the 'stang. :lol

Mark O, Ironically enough during the tour of Wixom last year somebody in my group brought up the cup holder issue and Rich the tour guy proceeded to hunt down a roll of duct tape, get in the GT and show that if you place it on the arm rest - it will work. Now a moving car might be a challenge though but you could always use duct tape to hold duct tape! :rofl

Duct tape is an amazing product though.... even fixes plumbers butt!

Yes, a cup holder would be nice in GT's, Lambo's, etc...

My GT's not with me at the moment, so I can't check to see if any would work.

Just found this, looks like a winner (bendable mounting):

Heres on that is a "wedge" cup holder. Wedges between the console & pass seat. Maybe wrap a cloth around it so nothing gets scratched.

Just get one of those Beer Can Holder styled hats and run an IV. :cheers

The guys running LeMans didn't use cup holders.:thumbsup

The good news about no cup holder is NO SPILLS:biggrin

Omega, I tried one of those fitable holders - it doesn't work because the window sill on the GT is very wide.
