I was just browsing through another Ford forum where they discussed a battery problem and the radio amplifier. Is it possible gauge failure may be linked to which radio we have?

No. There are several people that have had gauge failures in cars with NO MAC. The no mac cars do not have an external Amp

Agree with Shelby and would add that there's no such thing as a stupid question when it comes to the gauges. :biggrin

In that case I'll keep trying.

Similarly and probably remote as well ..... I was wondering if the car were to be started with the trickle charger on (I've done this a couple of times) could this result in a gauge damaging power surge?

Viper, it should not. I never started my car with the charger on and still lost 2 gauges.

I agree with Doc. Hopefully we are not far away from learning what SVT has discovered with the bad gauges. Kudos once again to Dave for getting us even this far!
