looking to get rid of the gooey floor matts, looks like it a 2 ply matt? rubber thin foam is the first ply? do you pull both or just the top part?
thankyou

Pull both out together. It is more of a sandwich. The goo leaks out around the whole perimeter of the mat. I would wear some cheap vinyl gloves .to take them out and place them on cardboard so as not to get the goo on anything else. This is a known problem and not unusual at all. Aftermarket carpets are available. You can clean the goo off the footwell with whatever cleaner you like. I prefer lighter fluid, then wash residue off with soapy water. Exoticare, a forum sponsor, makes some nice custom mats. I left the gooey mats in and put carpet on top to reduce road noise and keep heat down. There are threads here about it. Do a search.

thankyou

Get your status changed to Owner.

how do i do that,i cant figure it out

If you use your car, the best mats in my experience were made for me by coco mats. The others look nice but wear out quickly.

This is what I ordered.

ok thanks

Peel all the foam out
I pressure washed the goo out and used some goo be gone
Cut 3 layers of foam to fit and use spray contact adhesive to hold them together and into rubber mat
This is the foam I used. One sheet did both.

I love Coco mats (I grew up in when they were THE mat to have).

Do you have a picture of yours?

I used denatured alcohol to cut the goo on the mat and clean up the mess on the floor.

thx guys

Hi
Can someone be kind enough to tell me how to change my status to Owner and Mark IV Lifetime that I purchased ?

Thank You!

Have had these since 2015. The color has worn off but there is no damage to the mat.

Quick turn screws that hold the kick panel in place.

I also left my original mats in the car since 2006 like Frank (post #2) and put a fabric mat over it. Notice the picture in Simon's post #13 and how the silver painted surface on the right side is all nicked and scratched. I had mats custom made that go up both sides of the footwell to protect this paint. The vast majority of mats recommended by Forum members do not go up the sides to protect these painted surfaces. It's very easy and not super expensive to have custom sized mats made. Make a paper pattern and send it to the manufacturer. Won't take more than an hour to make a pattern for driver and passenger. I ordered mine from California Car Cover:
