Any known EXPERIENCED installers in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area who have actually done this install on a FGT? Although there are number of competent shops in the area who do general repairs, I don't want them to "cut their teeth" on their first FGT.

Thanks, Tom

Power Ford in N. Scottsdale has done these mods. I think Sanderson may have as well - but not on any of my GT's?

Having said that, "Team Jeff" has done several Pulley/Tunes and has pulled mufflers and installed Xpipes at least 3 times on my GT's. Can't speak for him - but he may be willing to lend a hand if you throw him some $$$. Maybe PM him?

Just had mine done by Cooltech and it might be worth while shipping the car to Kendall and back.

Power Ford North Scottsdale has an excellent experienced FGT tech. I would take it there.

I would recommend Power Ford in North Scottsdale, if (and only if) their technician named Dexter Allen was available to work on the car. He did some work on mine last October, and in conversation with him, I found him to be extremely knowledgable of many facets of the GT.

I had mine done by ADS (Automotive diagnostic specialties) on Chandler Blvd. They have done several FGTs and understand the car well. Talk to Doug and tell him Nathan from the forum sent you.

Thanks all, will give them a call.

I actually bought my FGT last year from a Private Party in Scottsdale and wish I knew of you guys and Chip then. The person I bought it from had a PPI done by Five Star Ford there who also had a GT certified mechanic at that time. They had done work on the car before as well. They also had work done on my car by Sam Tam Ford in Gilbert. Now that I look through my records, I see the mechanic who worked on my car was the same guy in both dealerships!!! Anyways, His name is Kennet Macrae FYI. Dont know if hes still around but I beleive he was a FGT Certified Tech...

Good Luck

Being a very detail oriented guy I've got to second ADS as a great place to take the car for any service it may need! Great group of guys there that will take very good care of you & the GT. Ask for John Thompson.

I will not comment in detail on Power Ford, but while I would have no issue using the facility for a "regular" Ford, I would not under any circumstance return with a GT. I would be happy to share my experiences in detail if you like, PM me.

Thanks for posting that link Greg :thumbsup

It would be great if we could organize dealers & independent shops by state, then enable forum members to rate them with a number system. 0-10 for example.

Yes. like page one in the post.

Rating .... hmm, how would Team Jeff rate Power? :frown

Yes, like that but in a much more user friendly format! :)

I don't know how many people check work that has been done at shops, but as a general rule I do & have been surprised at the things I've encountered; loose bolts, completely wrong settings, scratched, tools left in the cabin (potentially deadly in an accident), etc. I hate to post information like that, but if it saves another forum member the hassle & headache I've had then it's warranted.

If Dwayne Burke did the actual wrenching on GT's at Power Ford I'd certainly be more comfortable - Great guy!

Things left in cars - my old partners and I used to teach at a local medical school. We would pack up human organs or tissues with interesting tumors in sealed bags. One year my partner went to trade in his Caddy. The day after trade-in, he gets a call from the dealer that he needs to come down right away. While cleaning out the trunk, they found an old, bagged kidney that must have been sitting there for years. Luckily, they knew he was a doctor and didn't call the local police.

Power Ford in Scottsdale or ADS in Chandler.

ADS is going to be putting my new race motor in my camaro next year.......
