Performance Shifter Upgrade

Is the shifter upgrade just the shortened shaft with the polished ball or
is it a whole assembly. If it's just a shortened shaft that won't eliminate the slop of the stock shifter. I really hope its a complete unit as it feels a little mushy to me.
