BMW M-1..... I just always thought these were beautiful cars... the '80s ski-parka paintjob not so much, but, hey, check those seats! I think I had a North Face or CB-Sports ski jacket that matched those back in the day...

... still, just a burly looking car.:thumbsup

No super car collection is complete without an M1, a true keeper

As Chris says, that's the one. Absolutely immaculate - fantastic piece of automotive history and a blast to drive.

What did they cost new?

Always loved those M1s. Had the same engine in an '88 M5 (with appropriate Dinan chip), a car with all the aerodynamics of a brick, but a jewel for an engine nonetheless.
Dig the wheel/tire size on this late '70s-early '80 supercar though. A Mazdaspeed 3 has bigger/better rubber than this thing. Also, I've never seen a street M1 with the goofy wing. It looks like it was lifted off a Lambo to make the BMW look like a CSL Batmobile.
Lastly, only "the Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani"
would have a car with blue dash, white console, funky Recaro seats, and maple (?) dash/inserts. Every other M1 I've seen had the black or engine turned inserts.
Love to own it though. It was supercar that almost made sense; some trunk space even!

Ok, they say it was completed in 1980, but the date of prodution on the builders tag says Jan 84. Something does not add up there, but the caris pretty cool. That car had to get some major attention in its time. :eek

Also noticed in the photos it shows 32000 miles on the speedo.. The listing says 32000 kilometers under "vehicle overview". The ad also states in other places 37000 miles which I assume is a typo.
