Original Ford GT dealership banner on eBay:

Maybe they saw this thread about reproducing a new one.:biggrin
Maybe it's one of us.:lol

If Ford produces it it's considered a "rerun" thus no difference in quality or value. If someone else knocks it off it's a reproduction and would most likely look a bit cheesey due to the art being a generation old.
It should be very easy for Fords vendor to put it back into production due to all prep work should still be available. It will probably just come down to do they (Ford) want to deal with a project this small for a car that is out of production.
Hopefully the answer is yes!

Whichever way the coin lands, I would also like to be in for one. :banana

This is why I am dealing directly with Ford to print them under license or a letter of authorization. I agree with you that they probably don't want to be bothered with a small run of 50 or so. If given the approval we can use the same source files that the original was run from.:thumbsup If they would prefer that the original vendor do another run that is fine too I just know there is a few people on this forum who want one and it doesn't matter to me who prints them.

With digital technology image quality is easily maintained, usually increased, and the "generation old" is a old term that was used when an original was scanned and then re-produced.

The photo used on this banner exists in the public domain and the banner can easily be printed without looking cheesy, but I think what I have done by contacting Ford with a letter of intent proves we respect the brand. At the end of the day it is more advertising for them however they do own the copyright on the design and it is up to them who can print it.
I have a business doing this and have always found that asking for permission is more professional than asking for forgiveness:thumbsup

As a cop once told me when I was pulled over for speeding and stated I didn't know that the speed limit was 50 on this part of the road he replied with "ignorance is not a defence"

:cheers

Sounds like you and I are in somewhat the same business.
My reference to a generation old was due to someone could scan the original and then reproduce it on canvas or a simular material as in a "Giclee". My guess is that the fully built image being available on the internet in high enough rez as to produce a poster size reprint is unlikely buuuuut I could be wrong.
However I totaly agree the best and proper way is to ask for Ford's permission and to use the original built files the piece was created from. All this should still be at the original vendor. A fairly safe bet is the art will be archieved for 3 to 5 years.:thumbsup

You are right on all counts my friend :thumbsup
Standard screen res is 72dpi so most internet images would look like lego when they are enlarged:ack

Hope to get word on this soon but in the meantime I am adding to the list.
