OIL FILTER & BRASS WASHER

Did first oil change today, not really a difficult task, just takes a little time.

However, I do have a question

Where does the brass washer that comes with the oil filter go?

There wasn’t one in the filter housing when filter was removed.

While on the lift and pans were down, did check all areas for the infamous trans-axel vent leak, the half shaft bolts, all hoses, wheel torques, etc.

Please to say ALL were as they should, be no issues.

I am curios about the ‘brass washer’.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Brass washer - Not needed for the GT, only the rubber seal! Maybe for another car? By the way, I realized that the oil filter is manufactured in Germany by MAN (German truck and engine producer), after ordering it in the US :rofl

Desi, Thanks for the input about the washer. That was my guess, but the shop manual is vague and makes no mention of it. Interesting that the filter is made in Germany. Thanks again.
